Hi,
I'm I just bought a joggler since I wanted a low powered linux touchscreen machine at work. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get any image (xbmc, android, ubuntu, xbuntu, etc.) to boot off a flash drive.
I've used many different types of flash drives. Oddly, I was able to boot into both xbuntu & xbmc once, but after shutting down and trying again, the images wouldn't load. I tried creating new images (both on windows & linux), and I can't get them to load. Every time I try to boot off the USB drive, I can get to the grub screen, but then it just stays at a blank screen after the image I want to load is selected.
-I can get the joggler to read off a flash drive when running the stock OS so I know that the problem isn't the usb connection.
-I'm wondering if maybe my plug doesn't supply enough power. I'm in the US and the seller included a plug that has an Openpeak label on it, but maybe it carries less power than the plugs that shipped with it overseas? My plug is 5V & 4A.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Issues with booting image off USB
Re: Issues with booting image off USB
Hi ,
I had very similar issues to yourself once apon a time and it was in my case a combination of things , I found I only had success with Win 32 disc imager version 0.3 and no others !!
Also I could not get a working image created using a windows 7 64 bit machine ,I have to use a netbook running W7 32 bit for some reason unknown to me .
When you find a working combination of image writer and Os stick with it , that's what I did and I've never had an image fail since .
If you use osx or linux maybee others could help

Thanks for the tip. The joggler is at work so I'll create a few images at home and try it when I get in on Monday. My fingers are crossed.
