Help a newbie :(

Post by V6ALFISTI »

Hi All

I bought a joggler a couple of years ago and I managed to load some new apps via telnet using a script that was posted by somebody on a forum.

The joggler has since been packed away and now I am looking to play with it again.

I seem to have alot of apps/games that I don't really need and alot that I do need and would like more of (Google Apps/Web browser/more TV streaming).

Is there a really simple guide/or preferably a script I can run that will replace my current setup with something more fitting. I am not really a coder but I am PC savvy and can follow instructions ;).

Can anyone help me? :D

Hi ,
you have quite a few options here now, have a look through the Wiki , link at top of page .
I am in the same boat as yourself regarding coding but it is very easy to keep what you have got o2 wise and create a bootable image of either Linux ( various builds) , XP , Android etc
Lots of tv possibilities on linux and xp , not on Android however but great fun non the less .
Xbmc running on linux pref or xp can run navi x and ice films , iplayer and many more ,might be worth a look for you as well .
Have a bit of a play around and see what suits but if your just wanting to use the o2 stuff the Joggler comes with , what we have is all in the Wiki :-)
Good Luck
Happy Joggling

Welcome to the forum. PC savvy is good, you'll pick it up quickly. If you have a USB stick and a few hours to tinker, you can get Linux running really well in no time at all - the wiki has links to download that and you'll be impressed how well it works on the Joggler.

My 3rd XP build is nice and stable, touch screen friendly and is good to host files to stream on other devices around the house - Stick it on a shelf next to your router with a HDD full of media and stream it to an xbox, upnp set top box or htpc.

Thanks all,

I will probably keep one standard but with some extra applications and play with the other one a bit further.

Will have another look at the WIKI as I must have missed the step by step guide.

Well just tried install plug n pimp and my joggler now loads then says a new update has been installed and reboots, going through the exact same cycle again :(

How do I bring it back to life?

EDIT: Reflashed and got back to stock (phew)

Plug N Pimp tried a second time and worked a treat, did everything that I needed the first one to do. Next week hopefully have some time to play with the second and do something a bit more adventurous with it. :D
