All alternative OS: How do you Power On/Off the Joggler ?

Post by Tommes »

Hi there,

how do you Turn On / Off your Joggler with your alternative OS ?

So far I did it so:

Power On:
Disconnect the power plug -> Wait a few seconds -> Connect the power plug -> Booting OS ...

Power Off:
Shutdown

An Idea to 'Power Off the Joggler' would be to do it with Standby, but i can't disable the
XScreenSaver (see other posting)

I would be interested to know how do you turn off your Joggler
cause the disconnecting power plug method can't be healthly for the Joggler ;-)

to power off, same as you i click top right - shutdown. then i switch off at the mains

to power on i switch on at the mains

if you always have your mains on then yes you will need to remove the power cable...

The Joggler has to have power removed, then reapplied to start again after a shutdown. There is no in-built method of cycling the power.

If you are that way inclined, however, it would probably be possible to make a power cycler!

I purchased a miniature toggle switch for mounting in a small hole on the back of Joggler. I haven't mounted it yet. It still looks to be a big too large.

You can add an in-line power switch, the kind used with desk or bedside lamps.
