Ubuntu 11.04 / Squeezeplay

Post by Sinbad »

Hi - relatively new to the Joggler so please bear with me!

I have managed to run Ubuntu on the Joggler via a USB stick and am happily running Squeezeplay.

How do I get a Squeezeplay icon on the desktop as opposed of getting the application to start via the main drop down menu?

Thanks

When I installed Squeezeplay on Ubuntu 11.04 (from roobarb's script that BuZz kindly placed on the desktop) I'm sure the Squeezeplay launcher appeared on the desktop without any other intervention.

If it doesn't, you can right-click on the desktop (you are using a hub and a wireless mouse aren't you? Ubuntu is frustrating without one and delightful with) and create a launcher. Just browse to the executable in the create launcher tool and Bob's your father's brother.

On the desktopp, I do indeed have the "Install Squeezeplay" icon which I used to setup Squeezeplay up. I'm looking for the appropriate icon that will launch the application now that its installed - which I am assuming is different to the "install" one?

Right click on the desktop, select Create Launcher, navigate to /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh (I think!) & name the shortcut Squeezeplay.
