Thanks but it has to be a ver. 2.3 software - Pure Connect fails to install (invalid file package) despite Playstore confirming it's compatible.

Driving me nuts!

Sorry , I don't have a 2.3 device to help you out have you tried an older version of the app ?
Also what device do you have 2.3 on ?

The app installs fine on android 4 - just fails on 2.3

It's a Galaxy S 4.2 music player.

The older app also fails on the Galaxy.

A friend tried on a different 2.3 Galaxy phone which also fails.

Need someone with a non-Samsung 2.3 device, I think.

ahh i see , if you cant get it going but really need it on your tablet , you might be able to flash a custom rom like cyanogenmod or similar then the latest app might play ball http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1720457 .
Ive flashed a few phones for similar issues in the past , including my current one , but bricking the device is a possabilty as well ...

The galaxy S hasn't got any replacement roms. I checked ages ago.

I decompiled the failing apk and compared it with a successful apk - too much info! Can't see anything obvious to cause suspicion - but then I really don't know what I'm looking for!
