Dan,
The only difference that I saw was relating to the video herring bone pattern that I saw running 2003. You had mentioned decreasing the amount of video memory relating to it early on. I saw the same on earlier versions of XP.
Everything else was fine in 2003.

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
I think the only major difference is that 2003 may not accept all application installs, but on the other hand I find 2003 alot snappier in use, its a give and take situation lol

Yes; it is faster.
I didn't have any issues with the base that I needed to install; IE: speech, java, .net, etc.

Dan,
Do you see what I see with HD playing on the Joggler? Its just like very subtle horizontal bars. Maybe its just me though. I am using your build on a memory stick versus the USB SSD.
It's a unique magic you brought to the Joggler world you know Dan; whatever you do and however you do it; you were the first here!

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
Been trying to replicate the herringbone effect, going to try out some newer display drivers, and thanks Pete, just trying to squeeze all the juice I can from the jogglers spec, and the more I tinker the more I learn so that's an added bonus for me, its harder these days though as I don't have my own PC, motherboard is still not replaced, having to cram in time when thewife is not using hers, but when some funds clear up in the next few months builds will come more regular, And cheers mevi helps alot.

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
Its more difficult to see when there's a lot of motion like in some movies.
I see it with the MCE Aquarium setup. I don't see though with the clock screen saver.
I will try to take a picture of it with the macro lens look on the camera. (will take two pictures actually for comparison).
Well thru the lens it looks OK; but the picture adds noise. Will drop the picture on a Visio overlay so I can use arrows and such.
Just noticed that I can get good pictures if I push up the shutter speed.
Before reloading the mini 2003 boot USB; I tried the original O2 image again as for whatever reason it got wiped out last week or the week before and I had to write a new image to the it. (now its stock versus the added widget stuff I got with Joggler #5). It booted back just fine to the stock O2 Joggler image. Its still being held together with some painters tape (great stuff). I did though put the motherboard screens back on such that the heat sink works. Just watching it boot Dan to the Mini2003. Really fast boot.
A side note. I have two Jogglers up on two PoE power splitters being feed by 2 AMPs of 5VDC. Now for over 24 hours. The PoE splitters are not even getting warm. I do an auto dim then shut off the screens at night.
BTW what is the specific part number and mfg of the laptop motherboard Dan?

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
No I think it just reached the end if its life, it was a generic Intel lga775 ddr2 board, think the model was d945g, or a revision of that. Only housed an old dual core but was my little workhorse lol

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
I'm using one of those right now with my Zoneminder server. Initially it was the Intel 945 core duo board which started life as a Pentium dual core but upgradable and I upgraded it to a core duo. I did have the exploding caps thing though with that board after running 24/7 for about 4 months; then sent it back and purchased a similiar Foxconn motherboard. The Foxconn is doing well right now after almost a year with its core duo. I do want to install a quad core in it. You can get an ASRock or Foxconn or Intel core duo board now here for less than $30 USD with no CPU on it. Because of the proliferation of the I3/I5/I7 boards they are dumping the older core duo/quad core boards. Whats nice though about the quad core boards is that they have built in Gb, up to 16x PCiE slots and 8Gb of memory which is nice for say VM stuff.
Today the "mothership" is running on a Foxconn Atom D525 with 4Gb of memory. Building a new NAS these days and trying a Asus E350 AMD board. Its very impressive similiarly priced to the Foxconn D525 but it has 6 SATA ports and up to 8 Gb on board memory. So I stocked it and actually just ordered neato looking NAS case from China. It has 8 swap drives in the front and room for the mini ITX board it it. Reasonably priced too. The new I3/I5 boards now too only utilize only 30 watts of electricity; similiar to the Atom D525 (dual core with 2 psuedo CPUs giving you kind of a quad core Atom based CPU).
Check out the prices of these socket 775 motherboards :

Re: Foshiz mini 2003 RELEASED
Ok so the scanlines seem to be down to drivers, need to go back some drivers, maybe if mevi posted his graphics driver with the inf, it could be used, I think he uses the driver from one of my earlier builds, but not sure which one.

Yup; tried the reinstall of DirectX and went to the Intel site on the video drivers; still the same though. I can't put my finger on it. I boot up with Mevi's last image and I don't see it. Wierd; do you see the same Dan?
