@bobbydee48: I got the same message as you when it didn't like my usb. Tried another and it worked. Did you try unzipping the PnPIII to your desktop first and then copying to a clean usb?

as asked earlier, can you list what is in the root of the usb stick so we can see if anything is missing.

Files, Squeezefavorites,.sum Changelog opupdt.run readme instructions radiostations catalog boothacks opupdt ( winrar) pnp_install.sh version
This is all that is showing when unzipped to usb.
(ilovemyjoggler) tried several usb sticks and unzipped to desktop the copied to a freshly formatted usb fat 32.
Hope this helps solve my problem.

Have you left the usb in for long enough before trying to telnet in and access it? I like to pop it in, leave it thirty seconds and then telnet in. I'll check the integrity of the upload tomorrow. Have you tried redownloading though?

Hi,
I'm struggling trying to get a USB hard disk to auto-mount.
I presume auto-mounting works, since USB memory sticks seem to do it. But how do you get a disk drive to auto-mount?
I've tried putting an entry in fstab, and then mounting the drive manually, - that works but it's a manual process which needs to be repeated if you unplug/plug.
I've tried adding a mount script into /etc/init.d/boot.d to mount the disk at boot time. Again, it works at boot time but not if you unplug/plug.
Googling for it tells me I should be using udev rules. But the udev system doesn't seem to work for this build of Linux.
Any ideas?

Tried 2gb 2x 4gb 3x 8gb usb sticks. No luck. Found an old 512mb stick and tried it before I gave up. It is working spot on. Do not know why all the rest will not work,
Thanks to everyone for being patient with me. This joggler is great. Now to update my other two for the boys.

Whoop whoop!
It's amazing how some Jogglers seem so picky with USB sticks. I've never had a problem with anything I've stuck in any of mine but your struggle is not an unfamiliar one among Joggler users. Anyway, glad it's all working now and you can enjoy the unleashed potential of the Joggler!

@offbeatdave: Still a bit chuffed... I was kinda right - I got the same error message when it didn't like my usb too!

What stage are you getting problems at?

offbeatdave,
Wondering how I would add widgets to your PnP III such that I could play custom video feeds (security cams) using jwplayer?
So far I have put the media player in the appshop directory and modified the applications.xml file such that it includes the media player.

Hi Pete. Is the player a swf app?

Yes it is offbeatdave. I was able to get the icons on the Joggler. The examples all show though an accompanying java script then calling it from html.

If it doesn't run itself from the swf, then you could try launching it through the SWF Manager. Chess, Angry Birds, Crush the Castle etc all do this so if you have a probe in their directories, you'll see the way in which I invoke the SWF manager to run swf apps.
Basically they're launched through a cgi script containing something like the following (for the chess app for example)
Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
/media/squeezingtarkan/app/flashapp.sh http://localhost:80/starter/chess/chess.swf
As you can see from this, I have the all files for the chess game in a folder in media/gforums/webserver/starter/chess (if memory serves me correctly) and so on. The applications.xml file (or whatever it's called) links to the cgi file, not to the app itself.
JW Player

OK, I've managed to get this to launch. It didn't do it itself so I had to do the stuff mentioned above (call it from a cgi script). The app loads up, there is a bottom toolbar with play, menu etc. but nothing appears to be selectable. Is this because something needs adding to the js file?
I've even got so far as to create a little script to add it to the Joggler...
Code: Select all
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/installjwplayer.sh
sh ./installjwplayer.sh
rm -r installjwplayer.sh

That's great offbeatdave! I built the 97X97 icon PNG file for the widget view. Here is one html example for loading a specific video stream / file.
My goal is to stream HD rtsp. I guess its supposed to be able to do this.
Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript" src="/jwplayer/jwplayer.js"></script>
<div id="container">Loading the player ...</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
jwplayer("container").setup({
flashplayer: "/jwplayer/player.swf",
file: "/uploads/video.mp4",
height: 270,
width: 480
});
</script>

Just a quick heads-up to say I've updated the pics in the opening post to show the current version's screens.
