Still playing here.

Wrote to the NIC firmware ROM such that the W10 Joggler had a real MAC address. It continued to work fine with my stuff inside of the network.

That said W10 said something changed and wouldn't talk to the internet until I went to using DHCP. (not hearing voices from it right now as I have shut off the MS SAPI).

I then rebooted a couple of time then reset the NIC to a static IP and all was well.

It is currently utilizing Windows 10 video generic drivers. It will not let me install the original Intel drivers like Windows 8.1 did. That said it does a good job with the video.

The sound works fine but I do hear an irritating buzzing when the sound is muted. I can get rid of the buzzing by disabling the audio interface in control panel. I am thinking it is relating to the driver.

I am still removing stuff a bit at a time trying mostly to make W10 be a single purpose automation console with no help from the internet if I can do this.

Testing out the remote control of the device from the mother ship. I installed that NIRCMD stuff and can do all sorts of stuff remotely but cannot suspend it. I am hoping I can remotely suspend it and wake it up.

What I am seeing mostly is similar now to most tablets / smart phones. The enjoyment of the experience hides much of that hardware / software to visual stuff on purpose. (IE what you do not know will not hurt you eh?)

One reboot of the W10 build on the Joggler trashed the SSD.

Tried a quickie W10 repair and it didn't work and it did already get to around 16Gb which was a bit too big for my purposes.

Hi everyone
Not been on for a while but now that I have retired I have more time, after seeing that Pete had Win 10 working off the pata port I thought I would have ago at USB (still with SeaBios)
I used a 32gb USB SSD stick and WIN7toUSB along with win10 lite from sourceforge, it was reasonably straight forward. Also I have rebooted a number of times and its still working.

Very nice Mickchip!
Happy New Year!

Is that a kingspec USB 32 gb SSD stick?

Here last testing version of W10 was the Redmond Pro W10. I had issues running the Windows Lite stuff but eventually did get it working except for last boot which trashed out the SSD. W10 went to repair mode and wouldn't fix itself.

What version of W10 did you utilize as your base?

Today playing a bit with the MMC SD card slot on the Openpeak 2. Soldered on a 2nd USB port for booting linux. Not sure but it appears that the Linux kernel doesn't see the SD card right now.

You don't actually install it to the USB stick, It actually installs itself from the USB stick
You need to unrar the folder on to drive C:\ or any ware else, have the Windows 10 iso mounted so you can see the files & folders
mainly install.wim & boot.wim
Go into the folder win7usb and double click the file "INSTALLER.cmd" and just follow the prompts.
It takes a long time to transfer the install an hour or more but once its finished remove the stick, put it in your SeaBiosed Joggler
and it will boot and install.
Hope you can understand this.

So when you say don't install it to USB but the C drive , where is the C drive ?
I dried to install off a standard w10 image on a USB stick and it all went swimmingly until it came to the bit , please select media to install to and because they were all connected via USB , none were available .
Maybe could you do a little bullet point walkthrough of the install process please :-)
Do you think it would install to an external HDD ? I don't have USB ssd

Thank-you mickchip.

Here today playing with an Openpeak 2 totally apart right now. I have mounted it on my workbench to play a bit with it.

I installed a Broadcom Crystal HD card on the mini pcie port which works fine for 1080 HD stuff.

That and I have added a pata port and SD card slot and 2nd USB port on the device.

I can now write to the rom on the Realtek NIC and the Openpeak 2 does have a battery on it so it keeps time fine.

Here you go
1. Download the attachment win7usb.rar, unzip to drive c: on your PC, you should then have a folder "win7usb" on your PC.

2. You should have a windows 10 iso on your PC. I used Win10_1511_English_x32.iso, double click the iso file which will mount the file as a DVD with a drive letter. ie Drive E:

3. Insert the USB stick or USB hard disk in your PC and note the drive letter assigned, ie Dive F:

4. Note the drive letters of the Win10 DVD & your USB stick/Hard drive

5. Open the folder win7usb on your PC and double click the file INSTALLER.cmd

6. Follow the instructions in the program, this will create the Windows 10 USB stick/drive. (It takes a while, just be patient)

7. When finished, if you want to make it a lite version as I did. Download the attachment "WinLite10V5.1.rar" and unrar/unzip to the root of the USB stick/drive, this will give you a folder "Winlite10v5.1" on the stick/drive.

8. Remove the USB stick/drive form your PC and boot the joggler with it.

9.When Windows Setup ask you for input, enter nothing for now!!!

10. Now press Shift+F10 on your keyboard. A command promt should open.
Type "cd \winlite10v5.1" and press enter
then type "rmApps.cmd" and press enter, and answer the questions for your needs.

11. Close the command promt and finish Windows 10 Setup.

Here played with my Openpeak 2 model which is all apart now in pieces. I also taped the big metal heatsink to the motherboard and have installed a Broadcom Crystal HD card on it.

I put the build on a 32Gb microSD card. Initially tried on an 8 Gb SSD and it kept giving me errors that it wasn't big enough.

It wrote to the microSD card fine but wouldn't boot on the Joggler. Then when I tried to fix the boot I got a Microsoft error about reinstalling it.

Well that and I broke off my 2nd USB port on the Openframe2. Thinking the wires were just too small. I put hot melt glue on them to keep them in place.

Will try again shortly.

Noticed too on my last W10 build on the 16Gb pata drive I had used Win Lite version 4.5. I did bellyache about it and it did run faster after I thinned it out with Winlite during the build anyways. Not sure what happened on one boot that it quit working on me.

Here it worked fine on a 16Gb SSD until one reboot and now wondering if I should have started the endeavor on a 32Gb SSD as MickChip used.

Just today got a 32Gb Kingspec USB SSD. I didn't think they still made them. Note that I switched over to using 8Gb Kingspec SSD's and have not had an issue to date with them. They are larger than regular USB sticks such that you have to take them apart to fit them inside of the Joggler.
