This is weird - I had the DB Navigator app running OK on 2.2.3 but it refuses to install on 2.2.4. Nor can I restore it from Titanium Backup. Any ideas why?

Yes the link has been disabled by Sugarsync. I am working with people at the moment to get a new more reliable link. I am also looking into ways to shrink the images offered as well.

The new link should hopefully be live later today or in the morning.

The new image won't allow installation of many apps including:

DB Navigator
Just Pictures!
Vouchercloud
Youtube (installs but broken)
Rail Planner Live

So I've gone back to 2.2.3 for the moment. I didn't notice too many changes anyway.

Um, I noticed a change straight away! Did you end up with the folders (as noted in jp_hero's original post) - wallpaper, etc - on the launcher shortcuts?

It's entirely possible that I could have zipped (and uploaded) the wrong image yesterday in the rush....

Can't remember exactly, come to think of it there were a few funny things on the home screen but the first thing I did was install Launcher Pro so they all went away!

My 1st impression of the set up are good.
Couple of things though:
1) Sounds (alert tones at least) do not work. Playing a sound causes the speaker to emit a very quiet click once and then nothing.
2) In clock mode with the brightness down, the screen will flash as though it's waking up and then dim again. This puts me in mind of my Kogan tablet with android on it. Neither device have the hardware for phone calls, so I'm wondering if the software is looking for a signal and waking itself up in the process (it's been hinted at in xda forums that this might be the case).

your point No. 2 sounds like the same Issue I'm having. I don't want to have the screen off, I just wish It would stay at a constant brightness!!

It's not done in hardware/radio - it's done by custom software on the joggler firmware... proprietary to O2....

If you want to reverse engineer that protocol and write a custom app for Android that speaks it, go for it

Additionally, I haven't been able to install anything from the market.
I can search for apps and tell them to install, but each time it reports that it failed to download the app.
Has any body else had this issue and know how to resolve it?

Settings - applications - manage applications
long tap on googleservicesframework.apk, force stop then clear data
long tap on market.apk, force stop (do not clear data)
open Market, you will get an error, tap OK
Reboot & market should now download & install OK

That said, Spotify will download but not install. Not really annoying until we get sound working.

Try the previous 2.2.3 release, I found it to be better for getting apps to run. For example I got Youtube running OK on 2.2.3 but not 2.2.4.

Have to agree.
A couple of apps i use a lot install but then don't run properly:
grandfather clock (dongs like big ben on the hour)
2player (to access my NAS)

Both work fine on 2.2.3

The only app which works better on the new build is button savior - for me it runs on 2.2.3 but only the home button works, not the menu or back button. Something to do with the earlier version not being properly rooted.

I hadn't, but having just tried that I get the same lack of sound.
I recall that JoliCloud did not come with MP3 support, but could play OGGs out of the box.
In the music player on android, MP3 errors with "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file."
Loading an OGG works and looks as though it's playing, but with no sound.

Just set this up and i am using sub sonic to stream music from my pc. I prefer it to squeeze player as it downloads a few tracks in front so if my computer starts a virus scan or something it doesnt drop out. The only problem i have is my wifi keeps turning off, if it is left for a couple of hours. Tried turning ethernet off and selecting never sleep on wifi but it still turns off. Thanks for your hard work.

Good timing RE subsonic... Just installed the App myself, and I think it's probably just me being an idiot as I don't know Android very well, but I cant find how to configure my own server. I know it's in the settings, but where are they?

My subsonic app lists these options on the front screen...

'Select Server' - A pull down with 4 servers - demo and 3 unused

Random
Rated
Recent
Most

But no settings option?

Any help would be much appreciated.
