Thanks Dan!

Will give it a try. Anything in particular you want me to benchmark with the new build?

Playing with the Logitech Revue today; it was an Amazon refurb offered with Android 3.1 on it.

Need to root it though; very locked.

I installed it on an 8Gb stick. Fast boot Dan.

- the TS drivers didn't load initially with an error seen in the Control panel / system / HW properties.
- macro didn't work (but really none of them have not so far).

I used a keyboard and mouse the second boot time. I deleted the unknown driver and let it install it over again. It worked for the TS.

Rebooted - very quick to boot

Very nice simple set up and very fast.

I haven't tried anything else yet.

- seeing a services not starting error - its the cryptographic services
- looking at the eventviewer see:
a - configuring the page file for a crash dump failed
b - realtek - invalid network address
c - database open failure processing driver database

Shutdown is nearly instant. (like less than 5 seconds from what I can tell).

Anything you want to try with this build in particular Dan?

I've got it running on my O2 Joggler. The usual behaviour moving the image from an Openpeak to an O2, but got most HW detected. It's not detected the MMC and after the first boot, it doesn't like booting with a hub and sticks on crcdisk.sys - probably also a driver problem as it didn't detect the hub amongst it's 'found new hardware'. I'll work through those probs and stress test it for a bit on O2 and OP Jogglers before I reupload it for you to check over.

Worth mentioning for those downloading this image right now, that the VHD Dan links to doesn't include the EFI partition and that you'll need to lift that from a previous XP or W2003 build.

Same here with MMC. Initially I thought the crcdisk.sys stall was related maybe trying to boot the internal network device?

Yeah its only a try me image, if you all want a really small image, cryptographic services just needs starting in services iirc, it did boot on a hub here and it was ok, worth noting that it would not boot if I had a mouse/keyboard plugged in.

This is just for testing purposes to see how small I could get windows, I could go smaller but then things will break even more, I am fully expecting some errors, but if we iron them out its a quick build, I did not try ewf with this build though, and I am not sure if filesharing works.

I had the Joggler unplugged for a bit and just powered it. It went to the network right away via the NIC.

I have it currently installed on a memory stick inside of the Joggler with a small hub on the outside USB port.

Just playing a bit with it installing .net and other stuff tonight.

Urgh, vista. :D

Maybe a vlite version with the beta expiry disabled will run OK.

Came with my HP laptop, but HL2 and my music SW played so badly I went back to XP until W7 came out. I was studying a drug & alcohol course at uni at the time, so I qualified for the £30 W7 pro student special.

Dan, I have all HW detected and installed on the O2 Joggler and the time synchronises. Boots fine with hub and it all works on an OP Joggler too. The error 10 NIC on my OP Joggler has miraculously been cured too! (I'll keep an eye on that and report back)

I just need to sort out the file sharing later today and I'll upload a VHD and IMG packaged with a hub compatible EFI partition.

Yes my on and off #5 test Joggler did boot up yesterday without an #10 NIC error and its doing well as of yesterday. I had left it unplugged for about 30 minutes or so. Testing right now POE / UPS setup such that they never power off; which would work for me.

Just now made some changes for a reboot. Rebooted and it hung at the crcdisk.sys. Unplugged it and rebooted it at a #10 NIC error. If I leave it along for maybe 30 minutes it'll boot back to using the NIC.

Dan/Mev, will this boot OK on an O2 labelled device or will I need a mouse and keyboard attached? If so, can someone with an O2 image up their running version?

Thanks for all your work guys. I'm really anxious to try this version out.

Oh! Anyone running from the internal MMC? If so, how's the speed?

I was able to get mine to boot using a USB stick on the inside USB port and a wireless USB for keyboard/mouse dongle on the outside USB.

It didn't see the touchscreen on first boot until I did an update to the driver which was in error. I've added a bit to the original image now so its a bit bigger than the original one.

Create a memory stick with an EFI partition and NTFS partition; then write the VHD image to it. Only takes a few minutes.

Pete, thanks. Unfortunately I've never had reason to buy a keyboard or mouse as I've always had lappys.. :)

I'll be imaging it in a bit, so keep an eye out for it. Gonna write zeros to the unused disk space first, to keep the zipped size low, but won't be too long before it's uploaded. Hold tight!

lol

I don't have room on home office desk so took the remote combo from the family room MM PC stuff. Its a small Lenova wireless keyboard. Kind of small to use; but very functional.

Cheers mevi, this whole openpeak to o2 conversion is a little frustrating, when I have some spare cash definitely going to buy an O2 joggler, as my openpeak is only good for building openpeak images lol

Just pure luck that I got those 2 O2 Jogglers on ebay. There was me thinking that I was all about my mad skillz when everything worked on mine. :D

I got mostly everything fixed, drivers, file sharing, but I couldn't find a cure for the 'at least one service or driver...'. That's still there at boot, but it seems fairly innocuous.

Uploading now....
