Have you seen Spinal Tap? :P

My download of Zmjimi's gho file seems broken. Ghost doesn't want anything to do with it. Ghost Explorer too.

Did you have better luck, Dan?

I've never seen the movie Spinal Tap Mevi.

Interesting to read the Chinese forum Mevi and Dan. I see your posts there and everyone elses. (google translation). Makes for some interesting reading translated and all.

I keep my words basic so that the translation to Chinese is as close as I can make it. I expect that our Chinese translation is as funny as their English translation. All that talk of cabbage and cattle. Chinese and English are so different as languages.

Experimenting with a compressed C: (in the properties panel of c:\, tick compress to save disk space). Tried it yesterday and it seemed snappy giving me a boot to desktop before the clock ticked over to 00:01. Starting again using my B1 as a starting point on a USB stick, removing any excesses, applying the fixes I've done along the way in B2 & B3 and then compressing. I've not added any write caching yet. Might be overkill to compress c:\ in it's entirety, but some things might benefit from it. I'll report back my findings.

Despite my first tests looking promising, boot times and general use is not greatly improved by compressing the c:\ drive. I'd only suggest this if you have a really small slow stick. It'll knock about a quarter off the installed size, if that is a concern for anyone.

Space savings may be worth it, especially on 4 gig stick, would also make downloads that little smaller too lol

Completely rebuilt my own custom windows today, even has foshizzle support info too lol
Most was done with nlite, so it really is a Foshizzle build from the ground up, its still just as pretty as ffxp was, with the added bonuses of a few new programs I have accumulated! and no disk errors.

Would you like blue dolphin at start? or would you like to just use as a program and enable when you want it?
The dolphins volume bar is always pinned, so to disable touch menu and press exit.

Also playing with freeice, making themes for a program that's flash based is something i have never done before so its not easy lol

Any other tweaks or suggestions you guys can think of throw them at me, at developemental stage now for a couple days, few things I want to try!

You found Blue Dolphin... I though that had been retired. How does it run? I know it's only supposed to run on an Atom, so it should be lightweight.

FOSHIZZLE FTW!

If you'd not had a reply back from zmjimi, the desktop shortcuts link to 2 different sigmatel driver setup.exe. Trying them out now.

It's just the generic driver from gateway and the same with the patched ini. Disabled speakers have the buzzy noise. :-/

Yeah i found it, had to scour the net for it as all links on websites are dead, this is stolen from an ftp drivers download page for some unknown touch tablet lol, it runs really well, and its pretty damn sexy too lol

yeah figured it out earlier, its basically reinstalling the drivers each time you click one of the files, with just a shortcut to each setup wiz, nothing to exciting, will stick to the driver we have now i think, with the other driver in a folder somewhere if you wanted headphone only,

did you want to try the dolphin? can upload for you

also windows themes stay in place as before, got used to it now lol

just having trouble with windows taking ages to start, since i enabled auto admin logon startup being a pain in the arse lol

Very nice Dan!

I have been testing Mevi's version with the Chinese EFI. Big difference in the video. Its most noticible with the aquarium screensaver. With Mevi's orginal EFI the screen saver will lock up after a while; with the Chinese one it doesn't.

Tonight I tried to install the chinese EFI in the internal USB SSD stick. It doesn't boot for whatever reason. Any ideas?

Its the one with the grub boot.

Is the VGA file different in the Chinese EFI? Might be a reason for the video being better behaved?

I wonder if it's the same deal with the HUB & NO HUB versions of the EFI that we use. The Chinese EFI is described as a hub version.

My 3 customer return Jogglers arrived today. No PSUs but they are on order but don't arrive until the new year (£8 each, free P&P). All 3 boot from the side port, but will likely require the internal flash restored to factory.

1 Openpeak joggler - everything works.
1 O2 Joggler - Error 10 on NIC and Error 10 on the MMC. (not seen that one before)
1 Openpeak Joggler - Error 10 on NIC.

I now have 3 Jogglers without working NICs in XP...... I really DO need to fix that now. [makes coffee, scratches head, scours through ini files] :D
