Unrelated to the mini pcie sata card did try the updated SATA image on the booting ssd pata card Openframe device via a USB stick.

Noticed that it appears to hang on boot for me lingering at the EFI Avaya logo. Removing the PATA SSD zif connected card; it'll boot to the USB stick.

Just tried this on a lark.

I also tried it on the Openframe 7(?) with the speakers in the front without a mini pcie sata card and it does boot there.

Ordered a new mini pcie SSD card (not an mSATA card) to see what happens with this card.

Note that this is on the little one without a mini pcie card that is currently using the booting mmc efi parition to boot up the SSD installed Xubuntu 14.04.

I did order one of those little mini pcie cards with the sata port sideways to test it out on the bigger openpeak device (with the speakers in front.)

Trying the mini sata card and a 32 Gb mini pcie card on it. Yesterday tried the zif pata port connector and it is not seeing my SSD. It might be me and my soldering. It looks clean though?

I messed up the build last night running a doo everything script relating to an Asterisk server. It took over and mangled the original build. It is not not a pretty sight. Rebuilding and starting from scratch. It is plug n play as I am not touching the MMC boot EFI partition. I have done similiar a few times; a tweak here and a tweak there until the last tweak messes with it. I should just back it up to the NAS but do not and continue to play. That is the way I learn though.

Doing two different Ubuntu builds on two pieces of hardware. One being the O2 looking Openpeak device and the other the Openpeak device with the speakers in the front. This specific testing though is with just the mother board out of the box with the LCD on clamps and the cables required just plugged in. It runs fine for testing with no heat sink but I do not leave it on. The big box does have an RTC clock / mini pcie slot but the EFI boot rom is soldered in (I do not touch it though).
