Tried the software from a hard drive use connection...nothing happened. What do I do to install April 2015 PnpIII ?
Hmm. I've just re-read the installation instructions in post 1 and decided that a couple of them needed to be made clearer. The Webserver is only available once reflashing is complete.

Instructions
NOTE: ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST.
It goes without saying that I take no responsibility if anything untoward should happen to your Joggler, although fortunately there are plenty of us here who are willing to help in the unlikely event that it does!

Stage 1 - make sure the Joggler is running the latest operating system.
NOTE: ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST
Use Roobarb's re-worked OpenPeak image and reflash tool. Find it at Roobarb's birdslikewires site. The advantage of this is a cleaner image and the ability to install automatically without telnet.

Stage 2 - Install PnP III
NOTE: ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST
Works with Jogglers reflashed with Roobarb's cleaner post-update OpenPeak OS v30300 (recommended) or Jogglers running the original o2 OS

1) Make sure your Joggler is 'clean'.
Use the reflasher from birdslikewires.co.uk to achieve this with your preferred version.
2) Unzip the downloaded archive and copy all the files to the root a FAT32 formatted USB stick .
Make sure any hidden files are copied.
Make sure there is no 'remove_for_new_install' file on the root USB stick
3) With the Joggler turned off, plug the USB stick into your clean Joggler, switch it on and leave it to do its thing!
This method does not require network or internet connection.
This can take 10-20 minutes depending on the USB stick.
It may 'reboot' a few times but will stay on the 'OpenPeak' or 'o2' boot screen, looking for all the world as if nothing is happening. Flashing USB sticks however tell otherwise.
4) The Joggler will eventually reboot into the OS with all the new apps and icons
5) You will need to remove the 'remove_for_new_install' file from the USB stick after use to use it again.

Once installation is complete:
SSH, SCP, Telnet enabled(username: joggler password: joggler)
Simple Webserver available via a browser at <YOUR_JOGGLER'S_IP_ADDRESS>
Logitech Media Server (LMS) available via a browser at <YOUR_JOGGLER'S_IP_ADDRESS:9000>

NOTE: IF YOUR JOGGLER IS TEMPERAMENTAL AND DOESN'T RESPOND WELL (I.E. FAILS) IF REBOOTED TOO OFTEN, USE THE 'MANUAL' METHOD INVOLVING TELNET BELOW:

1) Make sure your Joggler is clean (See roobarb's reflashing instructions - linked above).

2) Unzip the downloaded archive and copy all the files to a formatted USB stick .
Make sure any hidden files are copied.
Make sure there is no 'remove_for_new_install' file on the root USB stick
3) Make sure your joggler is connected to your network.
Although internet access is not required to install PnP III,
you need network access to be able to Telnet in!
4) Plug the PnP III USB stick into an updated Joggler (with it powered on).
5) Telnet into the Joggler via a computer. The username is root and there is no password.
(open <your Joggler's IP address>)
4) Type in:
cd /mnt/files <press Enter>
./pnp3op.sh <press Enter>
6) Loads of stuff will scroll up the Telnet window whilst the mods are installed.
7) The Joggler should eventually reboot into the OS with all the new apps and icons
8) If it is present, remove the 'remove_for_new_install' file from the USB stick after use.

Once installation is complete:
SSH, SCP (username: joggler password: joggler) will be enabled in addition to Telnet (username: root)
Simple Webserver available via a browser at <YOUR_JOGGLER'S_IP_ADDRESS>
Logitech Media Server available via a browser at <YOUR_JOGGLER'S_IP_ADDRESS:9000>

Did you read my last post ? :-) I have a feeling you will get hopelessly lost here !
Try one of the Operating Systems that boot straight off a USB stick first maybe ?
Then once you can do that we will update to PNP III if you want to .

Hello,

I've been trying to get hold of PnP3 with no success - the google shortlink appears to go to dropbox, but the source isn't available anymore.

Does anyone have a copy of this please?

Thanks in advance!

I reflashed my Joggler as per instructions and it defaults to a fresh install.

I then try and install PnP III and have a few issues.

First of all when using a USB drive, it seems to be installing and the reboots into what appears to be an untouched OS, thus it failed.

So I tried Telnet (the username of root did not work, but joggler did) and it then appears to work...

However upon the joggler rebooting again, nothing has changed and there are no new apps.

I caught the end of the telnet script, whats happening guys? I also cannot connect to it via the joggler's IP, so the server element hasn't installed.

I have only ever used your first method.
Fresh install then make up the PNPIII stick and it takes an age re booting etc just leave it and go have a cuppa :-)
I would try making another stick up and try the above again .

The USB method was my first attempt.

Fresh install, booted it up checked all OK, turned off plugged in USB, turned on and left it to do it's business. Came back and no change :(

The files were extracted to a freshly formatted USB drive (FAT32) with the contents of the folder copied into the root i.e you open the drive and you see all the files laid out there.

What have I done wrong? I also tried another stick just in case...no joy.

I had the same issues a while ago .
Try to format with the HPutilities tool here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xu7zxb6ydgqxf ... k.exe?dl=0
Also extract the Zip using 7ZIP

Why using the above tools should make a difference I don't know but they do .
Give that a go , good luck :-)
Another issue could be hidden folders , what Os are you using ?

In windows 10 if you make sure after you have extracted using 7zip that the show hidden folders box is ticked forgot where that is but that has also been a definite issue for me in the past when I've had problems making up sticks .

Thanks just doing that now.

Managed to bring the sticks back to life, for some reason that HP software removed the drive letter and they were then showing as unallocated in the disk management tool

Hi,

I have an old joggler that i wanted to start using as a bedside alarm clock.

I wanted to load the PnP III v3.5 onto it to make it a little more useful.

However, the pnp3_crrent.zip mentioned in this thread is not available. Anyone have a copy or direct me where to download it from?

Thanks in advance

I'll try and put it somewhere to download late tonight or in the morning and will post back when done. Personally I now prefer to use Roobarb's Squeezeplay OS for an alarm/internet radio.
