As noted previously, the Weather app still works. You just need to edit the /media/app-cfg/common/weatherFile.txt file.
UPDATE: 8th APRIL - v3.50c of PnP III has this functionality built into the webserver!
See http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... 943#p23958
Here is one to set Skegness as the default and the other locations as options:
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<weather id="EUR|UK|UK171|Skegness" city="Skegness" region="United Kingdom(Lincolnshire, England)" units="1">
<location id="EUR|UK|UK171|Skegness" city="Skegness" region="United Kingdom(Lincolnshire, England)"/>
<location id="32801" city="Orlando" region="FL"/>
<location id="10001" city="New York" region="NY"/>
</weather>
To find the required location id, just visit
http://accuweather.telegraph.co.uk/dail ... esults.asp. The city and region fields are just for display in the app. Search for your location and copy and paste the part of the web address after 'loccode=' as the location id.
EXAMPLES
Skegness (Lincolnshire, GB): Location ID=EUR|UK|UK171|Skegness
Kissimee (Florida, USA): Location ID=34741
(Craig_1234 previously highlighted many, many city codes at

If you downloaded PnP III (v3.50a) before 13:50 on 6th April, please re-download current version v3.50b as there was a bug in the SQP/LMS installation.
Edit: Amended version reference and time.

Incorporated 'Adblock' script for Opera browser (and possibly YouTube app) using hosts file from

IT'S A SAD DAY, BUT I'M OFFICIALLY CALLING TIME ON PnP III DEVELOPMENT
As you've probably noticed, it's a year (where has it gone?!

) since I last updated anything on PnP III. During that time we've seen the BBC iPlayer app, Accuweather (without getting your hands dirty) and Google Maps all cease working and I simply don't have the skills to get them going again (although 'The Lounge' links could be updated I guess if anyone has the urge to play with the jogcontent file). I've also moved to Android devices and Roku/NowTV boxes for most of the things I previously 'Jogglered' for. You won't be surprised to know that there isn't a 'stock'/unhacked phone, tablet or set top box in the house!

That said, we're still running 4 Jogglers and the OpenFrame2 in this house, but predominantly run the amazing sqpOS on them. Of course, I have been tinkering with sqpOS - see the sqpOS v3 thread for my most recent tinker streamlining Logitech Media Server installation!
I need to say a huge
THANK YOU to everyone who actually 'created' PnP III (and PnP Mk II before it) - I just packaged it for the end-user! Obviously big contributors include roobarb, buzz, spoyser, pete, hawsey, gegs, dwl99, jkn, jon, castalla, jp_hero and, of course, gforums (and pretty much everyone on the top 50 forum posters). To be honest though, everyone on the forum has contributed in some way with little fixes, tweaks, requests, questions (
mainly from ilovemyjoggler
) and by using it in such huge numbers.
It has been an amazing learning experience which started with PMJ (remember that?) before moving to Jogtools and then to the original gforums PnP and beyond. Without it I wouldn't have been able to do anything I've subsequently done on Android, NAS drives or Roku/NowTV boxes. I've also found that sleep is so overrated/unnecessary!
THANK YOU for all your support with this incredible project!
OMG!!! what did i miss. i've been gone for a while, first time back to this!! offbeatdave i have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your patience with my questions (i saw your comment cheeky) and for keeping this alive for as long as you did. I still run pnpIII on 2 of my jogglers - both used as alarm clocks - and probably will until they stop working. You keep saying your just packaging up other people's work but i think you underestimate what you have brought to the forum and the joggler. Thank you so very much.
EDIT: I'm chuffed to have made it onto your list of people to thank - in whatever way!

I'm just pleased that what began as a bit of personal tinkering was of use to others.
To be honest, without the 'demand'/incentive to keep it going I wouldn't have done half the things I have on other platforms so really I am thanking everyone on here. Even popping together the last build I picked up a couple of things.
And of course, folk can continue to tinker with it as they wish.

Well its probably kind of strange for me to be chipping in here since I have not used this, however since I found out about the Joggler and took steps to get one (hopefully should arrive in the next day or so) I have been doing a lot of looking around trying to get some knowledge to make this new journey easier for me as a complete beginner.
I spent a day or so reading through this thread and also your detailed pdf instructions for how to install (is that the correct term for it on the joggler

)and set it up and it gave me lots of information and confidence to give it a try.
So I think it is sad, but understandable that you have stopped developing this but I still think I should thank you for all the hard work and time invested. Even without using this you have helped me a great deal.
I'll probably still give it a go anyway when my Joggler arrives.

You beat me to it! A few minutes ago I realised that there was a problem with the PnP III installer which wiped out the new option. I've just uploaded v3.50d with the problem (hopefully) fixed!

Thanks for the super quick response.
I did what you suggested via telnet
but
now the page says:
Error 500: Internal Server Error
CGI program sent malformed HTTP headers: []
Have I done something wrong?
I can reflash and install 3.50d but am trying to avoid the somewhat lengthy reflas procedure,
Sorry to be a nuisance and thanks for all your good work.

That is very strange. I deliberately corrupted the control.cgi file on one of my Jogglers to reproduce the error you had (which it does when the control.cgi file is missing or wrong). I then copied and pasted
Code: Select all
cd /media/gforums/webserver
wget http://download1479.mediafire.com/d4mfqpb222zg/z1c57da652qx118/control.cgi
and as soon as I refreshed the browser window it was working again. Can you right click in the lower part of the web browser windows and reload the frame? Does the wget command download the control.cgi file correctly? i.e. like this
Code: Select all
login as: joggler
joggler@192.168.0.83's password:
# cd /media/gforums/webserver
# wget http://download1479.mediafire.com/d4mfqpb222zg/z1c57da652qx118/control.cgi
Connecting to download1479.mediafire.com (205.196.123.167:80)
control.cgi 100% |*******************************| 9095 00:00:00 ETA
I've tried via Putty (ssh), Putty (telnet) and Windows 7 Telnet and it works every time.

My output from Putty is almost the same as yours, except that the 9095 becomes 94310 (i assume the file size)
It doesnt seem to be downloading the correct file from mediafire.
Very odd.

Ah-ha. Yes, that's it. I'll have to have a look at that later then. Sorry! Bit weird why mine downloads the right one though, but I don't really understand MediaFire yet!

Very odd. I've just downloaded to a Joggler via a Nexus tablet using wget and again, it was fine.

What happens when you copy and paste
http://download1479.mediafire.com/d4mfq ... ontrol.cgi
into a web browser?
It opens up the correct file in mine...
