Can you access that address from your windows pc (type it in address bar of windows explorer)? Can you ping that ip from joggler?

Yes when I enter that address I get the admin page for the linkstation, when I ping it through the telnet interface in winscp it pings and continues on and on? So it doesnt give a result?

If you are seeing times, for example:

64 bytes from 192.168.1.2: icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=0.241 ms,

then they can communicate with each other. If you check your dmesg after you try and mount you may get some more clues. Other than that, if you can access it on your windows pc, I'm not too sure. Hopefully someone with more experience with cifs mounts can help you out!

a long shot is to try:

echo 0 > /proc/fs/cifs/LinuxExtensionsEnabled

before you mount.

No still no luck at all with this - I must be doing something wrong.

I'm wondering wether the path i'm using is incorrect?

IP address is correct
i've tried everything from disk1/share/music rtc to see if it'll work but to no avail. I'm sure it's something really really simple that's stopping this!
