Extending Joggler power lead

Post by Rick2102 »

Hi Guys. I am a newbie and just finding my way round the forum so hope this is in the correct area. Will be getting my first Joggler tomorrow, figures crossed :) I am going to be getting probably 5/6 of them for home automation, fitted in the wall, and firstly would like to know/hear from other people who are using them for this also?
I am going to be running Squeeze on it for multi room audio wired into my network, will be used with comfort alarm as an alarm panel, will use an app for CCTV viewing, lights/heating etc.
As the title suggest I need to extend the power lead as the Joggler will be built into the wall and am going to run the power to another socket near by. I believe there is a transformer in the plug and the end that plugs in to the Joggler is a aux type plug so was basically going to chop the middle section and put in a chock box as it is 12v. Has anyone else done this? Thanks, Rick.

I could do with extending my power lead too, do you know what the dimensions of the joggler power plug are?
I found this on eBay

I would like to find something like this that we could just plug in if possible.

If you search EBay for CCTV power cables there are loads of different lengths etc. that are Joggler compatible.

Cheers guys. I will have a look.

Jogger has arrived and am a bit disappointed really as there is a buzzing noise coming from the speaker which I take it isn't normal? It is on standard OS and I plan to put on Android, but the sensitivity doesn't seem the best, you press it to do something and it doesn't do it and then you press again and it seems to do it twice. I have Iphone so comparing to that. Does this sound normal on standard OS or does it sound like a product issue? Thanks, Rick.

No not normal Rick2102 , the screen is very responsive in normal operation , i would suggest following the wiki to reflash your joggler or install PNPII .
Try putting one of Buzz's linux builds on to a usb stick and see how that seems first tho as this method is not invasive .
As far as the speaker issue is concerned i think this may affect some jogglers anyway but you will have to check the threads on that one .
I would just add external speakers if you have them as the Joggler ones are not the best to be honest.
Good luck

I have factory reset a couple of times and now seems to be ok and key board seems to work ok.

With regards to the buzzing this was just on boot up, but seems fine now, I am wiring up using the 3.5 jack to an amp's rca and wiring into ceiling speakers so will see what that sounds like as I have been told it is pretty good which is why I bought one.

Need to now try an Android crack and install Squeeze. Has anyone got this running and reliably on Android as I have seen some posts that say it falls over after a few hours?

Thanks for your replies.
