Squeezeplay goes dim after a while?

Post by charlesr »

Hi. I've had a search around, but can't find a definitive answer.

I'm running Squeezeplay on my Joggler and after a while (30mins?), the Joggler screen goes dim (even when pressing the screen). The only way I can get it to go bright again, is to "Quit" (from squeezeplay menu) back to the normal Joggler GUI and then go back into Squeezeplay. I'm assuming it's a overall Joggler setting which isn't then noticing to go bright again because Squeezeplay isn't part of the normal interface.

The ideal behaviour would be for the backlight to turn off completely and then go fully bright when the screen is pressed (while in squeezeplay).
If anyone has any tips on achiving this, it would be much appreciated.

FYI: My Joggler setting for brightness is full, my squeezeplay setting for "screen/brightness" is 100%.

Off topic, but while I'm at it, my Joggler reboots itself every now and again (I hear it doing the O2 logo noise). Is this normal?

I have the same issue on both my Jogglers. Any thoughts?

It's likely that the O2 screensaver is kicking in. As it runs as part of Tango (which we are covering up with the SqueezePlay interface) the tap on the screen is not passed through to the O2 UI, so the dimming is not removed.

Just disable the screensaver in the Settings app.

Superstar! That worked. Many thanks. Such a small thing, but you've enhanced my life.
