that file seemed to be a uncompressed tar (not gzipped), containing zeroes.. please just stick it on pastebin, rather than the forum.
(the contents of the log file, not zeros please

is this a wind-up ? That url just has some html. please check the link

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
that looks like Xorg.1.log and the Xserver didn't start in that log. Please use Xorg.0.log (from the GUI)
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
I'm sorry to be pain but how do i do that? "Please use Xorg.0.log (from the GUI)"
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
when i said from the GUI, i just meant from the joggler when it is booted into the gui/desktop. so it is a current valid log. so cat Xorg.0.log or so.

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
I had a quick look as mine wasn't responding to right click either, found that the device ID for the touch screen in the log doesn't match the ID in 99-buttonemulation.conf. The joggler is packed away at the mo but I'm pretty sure that all is required is to change a '5' in to '3' in the device ID string in 99-buttonemulation.conf.BuZz wrote:If you are still having problems, pastebin a copy of /var/log/Xorg.0.log so I can check if the config is being applied correctly.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Thanks for the suggestion here's my file contents
joggler@joggler:/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d$ more 99-buttonemulation.conf
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "buttonemulation"
MatchProduct "AmSC OpenPeak Touchscreen Hyup05_3"
Option "EmulateThirdButton" "true"
Option "EmulateThirdButtonTimeout" "1000"
Option "EmulateThirdButtonButton" "3"
Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "500"
EndSection

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
yeh, I suspect that is the case here (not looked at the log yet). I should perhaps wildcard it in future releases. Interesting to know there are some slightly different touchscreen versions in use.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
yeh so edit that file and change Hyup05_5 to Hyup05_3 and it should be good to go. ill note this for my next release.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
in my log it says "Adding input device AmSC OpenPeak Touchscreen Hyup03_3" so i'll try that.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
yeh sorry. thats the one you want. AmSC OpenPeak Touchscreen Hyup* should work also.
Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
should be fine now - log looked ok when i just checked briefly. can paste your config file again to double check but it looked like it was being applied.

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Just wanted to let people know about using this image on my Openpeak Openframe 7ez. The image works perfect including the internal bluetooth. I just wanted to know if there were any changes that need to be made from booting with a hub. I get the first few lines after loader starts then it hangs there. I think with my thumbdrive being in the hub instead of on the unit directly it may need a configuration change. It does not even get to the bootloader menu when inserted into the secound port on the hub. I am actually using an old Apple keyboard with usb ports on it.
i have XBMC setup up as my main player and use a XBMC remote to control it. It works very nice. Unfortunatly trying to flash the o2 joggler software or the android software I did not have sound, wifi or bluetooth. I guess the hardware is different enough that stripped down operating systems won't work. I am sticking with Ubuntu now.
If you want any system hardware information for it let me know what program to run and Ill post the results here.
It also has a a ZigBee transceiver in it so it may come in handy. I am going to try the Zigbee linux stack sometime ofr it just to see if it works in Ubuntu.
One last thing.. The only thing that I did notice is long press for right mouse button does not work.

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Just thought it would be interesting also to try a Ubuntu Mobile edition on the Jogglers. I think it would be a perfect device for it. Should be easy to make a image for it now.
