Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Just open it with any editor e.g. notepad, wordpad, vim. It's the grub.cfg file. It currently has lang=zh. Change the zh to en. Windows probably doesn't have any default program assigned to .cfg files. Open your editor, then goto File->Open and browse to the grub.cfg file.
Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. Just hangs on the following screen:
Any thoughts?Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Are you using a hub?

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
No - not using a hub. The joggler does have plug n pimp on it though (in case that makes any difference).
Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Does the stick you are using work with Buzz's images or the 1.2.3 android image?

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
When I get a moment, I'll check it on the other Jogglers and see if internal Flash makes a difference. I can re-flash the O2 Joggler that it wouldn't boot on and see if boots ICS afterwards.

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
If buzz's images work this should also. I would try redownloading both the files, first the 99mb file should be written to the disk and then the extracted easy package, merging folders if asked
Fullscreen squeezeplay windows, server 2003, foshiz mini v1 and v2, (and a few broken builds) :P so far.....

Bear in mind this image is not produced by anyone on this forum, so maybe best posting on Mijuu's blog (http://tinyurl.com/7v6ugxu)hawsey wrote:I know this is a work in progress so just a few observations

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Ok so unzip the "ICS_Joggler_4.0.3_Alpha.zip" file first, then the "Easy_to_use_package_Usbdisk(ICS).zip" file.danfoshizzle wrote:If buzz's images work this should also. So this means the grub.cfg file that will be left on the USB stick will be the one from the "Easy_to_use_package_Usbdisk(ICS).zip" file, as that file is unzipped last. Is that correct?
Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Cheers johnnygal ,
Might just do that but am a bit feared that google translate might be disrespectfull in the mix
some of the translations we get are a bit strange to understand this end lol .
I know mijuu is still working on this so it was just observations really .
Here's to the next build
Mijuu is a top bloke for doing this

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Ahaaaa that's better , language set to english , wireless , browser etc retaining settings.
I was only using the ics image and not the easy installer one !!
Thanks for the help with editing the grub to set to lang=en
when I tried notepad it was just jibberish so I opened with word and it all became clear .
Just having probs now with the market that comes installed , any advice on installing the market would be great
Thanks in advance

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Hey there, anyone got the market working yet? Currently loading stuff with ES file explorer from a LAN share....
I must say, the release seems good so far and very easy to set up. Congrats
Simple instructions for everyone, just load up a command line or gparted and create the following partitions on your usb drive:
/dev/sdX1 - your boot partition, fat32 350MB (dump all the files from the large release zip in here)
/dev/sdX2 - your data partion, ext4 1gb+
/dev/sdX3 - your SDCARD partion, fat32 as big as you like.
Then just edit grub.cfg on /dev/sda1 to change lang=en.
Simple!

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
OK, I finally got this to boot by doing the following:
- Formatted the USB stick using the HP format utility,
- Unzipped the "Easy_to_use_package_Usbdisk(ICS).zip" first,
- Then unzipped the "ICS_Joggler_4.0.3_Alpha.zip" file second, and over wrote the grub.cfg file.
This way, the grub.cfg file that ended up being on the USB disk was the one from the "ICS_Joggler_4.0.3_Alpha.zip" file.
Funnily enough, the joggler will only boot off the USB stick on every second reboot. Weird....
Anyway, I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for helping me to get this working.

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Pretty sure you should be doing the 'Alpha' followed by the 'Easy' zip. The grub from the 'Easy' refers to the img files for the sdcard etc.tangye wrote:OK, I finally got this to boot by doing the following:

That is what I did, from the mijuu instructions. Do you have an sdcard showing in the storage section on ICS?
Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
There was no SD card showing in the storage section. I'll try again using the order you mentioned, and see if an sdcard shows up .
