Pete, the driver that I don't get lock ups with is the one in the zip file named 12a..... something like that. It's in with Dan's w2003 image or the first xp image. It was in the EFI partition, a driver from a year or two ago. I'm away from the Jogglers at the mo. No lockups for me with that driver, anyway. The 2011 Realtek driver will lock up for me when I connect the Ethernet.

Another little experiment this morning.

This morning disconnected the power. Joggler #5 is in pieces and kind of painters taped together. Partially disassembled it and shorted out the 4 USB pins and all of the IDT (sound?) chip pins and the PATA port pins to ground. I then plugged the power back in and the network card appeared. I waited another couple of minutes and plugged in the network cable and connected right away to the Gb network. Left it on about 4 minutes and did a shutdown via MS. Unplugged the power supply and network card. Waited about 5 minutes and took the Joggler partially apart.

This time I was a bit more selective and shorted out less pins. Put it back together and powered it up. Plugged NIC cable and Joggler locked up.

Pulled the power and NIC cable off again. Took the Joggler apart and shorted to ground pins on Q14 only. Powered it up. No NIC.

Next shorted to ground the 4 USB pins from side USB connection. Powered it up. No NIC.

Next O7 pins to ground. No NIC.

Next PATA port pins to ground. No NIC

Next IDT Chip pins to ground. No NIC.

Here again then I shorted out numerous chips on the front facing part of the Joggler. No NIC.

Next I went to the rear of the motherboard and just shorted out the realtek NIC chip pins to ground. No NIC.

Tried it again. Next boot a little bit slower. No NIC.

Thinking I don't really event need the back part of the case if I were to mount the Joggler in a wall.

OK so I pulled the USB SSD memory stick and went back to see if it would boot into O2 OS. Interesting cuz it just kept flashing but no boot.

Tried a second time. Same thing. Goes to a white screen flash and O2 logo keeps coming up but doesn't boot.

Put the Ubuntu USB boot stick in. Booted right up. I must have trashed my stuff. Interesting cuz it used to boot fine into O2.

I do have a copy of the original setup I think?

Yes the oldest driver is the best one, updated drivers give lock ups and are generally more unreliable,

Thanks Dan. That's the one I am using now.

Just recovered the the Joggler back to the original O2 image. Seems to boot slow in O2 mode. Works though. I never really paid attention cuz I probably only booted once or twice before playing with it. Funny cuz it was apart before but I would keep the screws holding the motherboard such that the CPU would be agains the heatsink. Now the Joggler is all over the desk; literally. The CPU chip does get pretty warm.

It wouldn't be much though to use a passive heatsink and use some sort of plastic case on the back of it for wall mounting. I kind of use a clamshell of sorts for some touchscreens in the house which could also work. Wiring a USB dongle wouldn't be so bad either; but so far I'm seeing some networking issues after a bit with the USB dongle.

Yeah adding more cooling to the joggler would probably increase windows performance a little too, I have a very thin copper heatsink from an old graphics card that would be ideal, but do not want to chance it yet until I am in possession of at least 2 jogglers, also wanting to add other stuff to the joggler too, was thinking of a small acrylic window in the face of the joggler for one of the tiny usb webcams to be mounted into, thus giving skype functionality to the joggler, would be awesome for use in living room then for skype chatting with no pc etc

Damn just checked the size of the new build and its too big, -4 gigs, will have to reduce the size of this beast, although its large and functions really well

Ok size is down, .net framework is removed and instead replaced with an installer, the installer is 60mb but it installs every framework

I have a build sitting at 247mb uncompressed, going to add ewf, a theme, and a small pagefile, will be around 400mb! compressed looking at a sub 100mb download I hope lol
