I've got a weird problem with my audio output.
When I plug my joggler into my study amplifier I can only hear the right channel. I have two jogglers and am getting the same problem with both of them. If I swap the inputs around the sound comes out the other speaker so I know the amp is OK.
The strange thing is though, if I use the amp in the living room that the other joggler is plugged into, I hear both the speakers fine. It makes no difference which joggler I use or which cable is used, with the study amp I only get sound from the right channel.
Audio output problem
Re: Audio output problem
Question time:
Has this ever worked OK in the past, if so, what is different now?
What kind of amps in the livingroom and study?
Does the amp have a different input you can connect to (like for a CD player) and select that?
What happens when you use headphones on the Joggler?
Do you have another device like an mp3 player or mobile phone that you can plug into the amp?
When you say you swap the inputs around and it comes out the other speaker, that suggests it's not the amp, but the cable or joggler.... only you say they work ok on the other amp.

Re: Audio output problem
Are you 100% sure the cable your using will transmit stereo?
Some 3.5mm to phono cables only work in Mono. Try swapping the cable around and see if that helps. I think this is your most likely problem.
Otherwise it sounds like the amp is playing up, do other inputs play in stereo in the study, through both channels at the same time, rather than only one with the joggler......

Re: Audio output problem
The problem has always been there. Only had them a few weeks.
The amp in the living room is an Aiwa XR-AVH1000. It was part of a seperates system.
If I plug an MP3 player into it, it works fine so It can't be the lead. I have also tryed other leads and I get the same fault.
If I plug it into any input of the amp I get the same fault.
Headphones work OK and if I plug it into my 2.1 PC speakers in the study it works fine.
It's a bizzar fault. It seems the joggler isn't compatable with my amp but I can see why???

Re: Audio output problem
This is getting far to confusing with you talking about your living room amp and study amp and cables and differant jogglers.
Initially it was the study amp that was giving problems, now your suggesting it's the living room amp.
How do you connect the joggler and your study amp?(or is it the living room amp your having trouble with?) is it 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack? or jack to phono????
We can't help you if your being so vague and inaccurate with your descriptions of the problem, for example.....

What are you referring to above? what is 'it', your joggler, or the amp?'Headphones work OK and if I plug it into my 2.1 PC speakers in the study it works fine.'

completly contradicts your first post where you state'The amp in the living room is an Aiwa XR-AVH1000. It was part of a seperates system.

Re: Audio output problem
OK I'll start again. Got the two round the wrong way in my first post.
The LIVINGROOM amp is the Aiwa XR-AVH1000.
I only get sound out of the right speaker. Doesn't matter which Joggler or lead I use the problem is the same. If I plug the right channel into the left input I can then hear the left speaker, so I know the left input is working.
The prublem is the same on all input channels, AUX, MD, etc.
If I plug my MP3 player into the amp using the same lead, it works fine.
The lead is a 3.5mm stereo jack to Phono left and right.
The STUDY amp is the 2.1 PC speakers.
Everything works fine when this is used. Everything works with headphones as well.

and this is with the one single joggler?
Very weird indeed.

Re: Audio output problem
I'd usually shy away from saying it's the amp at fault, because I can't explain it, but I guess that's the problem.
Had an aiwa amp myself a few years ago and it was nothing but trouble, it's digital audio processing features were more hassle than use so it could be something along those lines.
Sorry that doesn't help much....

Re: Audio output problem
Think I've solved the problem.
The Output from the joggler had some DC offset.
To fix the problem I connected a couple of capacitors, in series, to the input of the amp. This removes the DC offset from the AC input signal.
All works fine now
