I'll check that out, Dan. Sounds similar to Deep Freeze in some ways.

We would have chosen Virgin for our internat as it's the best thing in our area.... only we live in a new build house and they haven't cabled our estate. Sky's package is a a true unlimited unthrottled service. Not the fastest, but we watch tv and movies all day long.

Build 3 uploaded. See post #1 for the updates.

The only things left to fix are the driver/firmware issues with speakers & NIC.

So, there are some hardware differences between the Opeanpeak and O2 devices. Trying the "Chinese" image that Mevi posted on 3 O2 branded devices and i've met with the same issues as him: no touchscreen and no keyboard support.

I then remembered what happened with Dan's last image which didn't work with anything but the Openpeak (which he has) devices without a keyboard attached.

So, booted the chinese image on my opeanpeak and touchscreen, keyboard, and everything works. Now I need to somehow change the settings back to engrish and see what I can decipher from their builds!

changing the build back to english is quite a task, as they have used used a localised version of windows to make it.

So i've found :( EWF is definitely enabled in this build as it lost my settings over reboot until I found a command prompt and committed the changes to the C: drive.
This is a big leap forward I would say. So, would I just need to extract the efi files, ntldr, and the ewf files in order to try this on another version? I assume that someone would have had to patch the ewf ntldr to make this work.

Looks as though I'll also need to make some reg changes. Gonna try to add just the files for the first boot and then *IF IT BOOTS* i'll try the reg changes...

So I am really confused here. I always thought the difference between the O2 and the Openpeak was just the firmware mostly.

I'm mentioning this because just noticed Joggler's for sale with a statement about not being branded? Does this mean that they are just running Openpeak software or are they Openpeak devices and not O2 devices?

Dan, extract files are attached from the other build.

all jogglers run openpeak firmware, but openpeak and o2 jogglers must have slight hardware differences, but I have not found those differences yet

So then what is an unbranded Joggler?

Here is the description:
Theses are original O2 Jogglers but have been refurbished and updated they now have more apps and functions than the original O2 Joggler but have been reboxed - They no longer have the O2 Branding on them but are the exact same machine only.

maybe the sticker at the back is missing, which contains the imei number? other than that the joggler is pretty unbranded anyway, unless he has taken the o2 branding out of the o2 os?

Also pete could you look in the sys 32 folder for any files containing ewf in the filname?

Thinking that ewf enabled is a step forward, but only if I could find a way for the end user to write all files easily.

Curious why I have seen IMEI numbers on the backs of the Jogglers I have? Here I only really see those on cellular phones.
The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI ( /aɪˈmiː/) is a number, usually unique,[1][2] to identify GSM, WCDMA, and iDEN mobile phones, as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed inside the battery compartment of the phone. It can also be displayed on the screen of the phone by entering *#06# into the keypad on most phones.
The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing the network in that country. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "blacklist" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless on that network and sometimes other networks too, whether or not the phone's SIM is changed.
The IMEI is only used for identifying the device and has no permanent or semi-permanent relation to the subscriber. Instead, the subscriber is identified by transmission of an IMSI number, which is stored on a SIM card that can (in theory) be transferred to any handset. However, many network and security features are enabled by knowing the current device being used by a subscriber.

Did they originally come with GSM modem dongles or something similiar?

Dan, looked for EWF files and found none. Do you want the whole sys32 directory? I can upload it to hotfile or something...
