I have the originally uploaded image configured on a 1.8" 30 Gb microdrive. Will do an SP2 update tonight with it.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
Put the 2003 image on the 30Gb microdrive and an 8 Gb flash drive. Once its working will compact it back down to 4Gb and upload image.
I did get the error noted previously. It has to do with IE not being installed on the W2003.
Initially tried to install IE8 and it would not install. Instead I just copied IE8 to the Internet Explorer directory.
Its in the middle of the upgrade and it appears to be working fine so far. Will post after a reboot.
Spoke too soon; locked up about 3/4 of the way into backing up files. Rebooted and started again.
Here are a couple of pics.
After all of this thinking XPE might be a nice addition.

hi Pete.
Thats good news. Did the service pack install ok on the second attempt?
Did you notice whether it installed sapi?
Cheers.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
ive also tried installing sp2 no luck would it be easier to use a newer tiny2003 with sp2 included?
Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
I let the SP2 install; and it appeared to look OK before I went to bed last night. This morning I saw an error statement about and it started to "undo" the SP2 undate on its own. I've give it another try today. I never got a chance to see what it had installed.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
So I had a look at what was going on. Installing a new kitchen faucet. I am not a plumber.
Error box in the middle that said restoral was no complete that W2003 may not work. I will try the update once more.
It rebooted fine but still indicates that its at SP1. Will give it another try. I now have more Jogglers to play with. Thank you Andy!
I can put this one back together again as its in pieces now all over my desk.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
Hi,
I hope this is right place to ask - I've been trying to get my Joggler to boot this image from various usb memory sticks/sd cards, with no success. I'm normally ok with all this, and have had no problem with Android, Ubuntu and Mint images. I'm using a 8Gb Sandisk Cruzer micro, and the best I can get is as the system tries to boot. It then waits for a while, and goes to the native O2 OS. This is the same with the stick directly connected and through a hub.
Any thoughts? Is there some pre-formatting or something I should try with the stick? I've used Gparted to delete all partitions before using dd to trasfer the file and it looks ok?:
I'd really like to try this image, but just can't get it to boot at all..
Matt

I saw that error when trying to boot using the internal USB port. Yesterday went to "testing" with a microdrive connected to a 7 port non powered USB hub. It wouldn't boot port after port until I hit one that would boot. The error though is different and related to a non functional boot.ini file.
I use GParted for resizing and some playing around. You stuff looks ok there. I have historically written to the USB stick with DD and now use USB Image tool. Try the following. Using windows download USB Image tool and use that to put the image on your memory stick. First test though; just plug in the memory stick; sans hub or keyboard; let it do its stuff. Unplug it; plug it into a hub with a keyboard and mouse and try it again.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
Dan,
Yes; third time trying here and its about 3/4 of the way through the installation of files.
If it works this time will compress the image down to less than 4 Gb and post for download. I'm let it boot up numerous drivers and removed the start up stuff; touch screen works fine, NIC and sound are also good. BUT I'm writing this before I know it'll work.

Ditto - part way through SP2 install now (I have copied in IE8)

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
Thanks pete_c
I'm wondering if there is maybe something wrong with my copy of the image file? this is what I get for the file size in Linux:
I can't seem to download the .rar again at the moment, not sure why.
Anyway, thanks for the help - can you think of any other things I could try?
I've now used USB Image tool (looks to be a useful for Windows) tried imaging, and the same error about fs0:xoj-ntldr comes up (This is the same with or without the hub.) It looks like the boot is starting, but it can't find ntldr in the specified place. not sure why..pete_c wrote: Try the following. Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED
3rd time; same as before. Right before the completion; errors out; and starts to restore files before update; all automatically.
So; next try will install SP1 (even though its already installed) and see what happens.
Since now I have the other Jogglers; I can put this one back together again and utilize it in "production'.

What a shame.
My progress bar is about 60% through.

I never checked the size; but typically if you "unrar" it and its a partial file; it'll error out with CRC errors. So it might not be worth the effort to download it again.
You might have an issue though with your 4Gb stick. I noticed that 4Gb can be either more or less. If the image is more than the size of the stick then it'll not complete or will be partial when you write to it; but it might say it finished fine.
The way I resize the image is to put it on a larger stick (say an 8Gb). I use GParted to resize the NTFS partition to say something like 3.5Gb. I then take the 4Gb stick using Gparted and write a 250Mb Fat32 partition and use the rest of the 4Gb stick to create an NTFS partition; making it bootable.
I then take the shrunken NTFS partition from the 8Gb stick and copy it over to the newly created NTFS partition. It takes only a few minutes. I then check the integrity of both partitions with GParted.
And another way; Mickey mouse; quick and dirty but it works is to image and copy just the files from each partition in Windows. Then using GParted create a new stick with the two partitions; don't set up the boot flag on the second partition. Plug the stick into the Windows computer and copy all of the files from the EFI partition to the newly created 250Mb partition and do the same with the NTFS partition. Take the USB stick and again with Gparted make it bootable.
