The touchscreen keyboard

try rewriting the image and on first boot allow 10 minutes so all drivers to to settle, as booting from a different make of usb stick than the one i used to create windows takes a little while to settle down and install the new device id of your specific usb stick

Ive left it again for 30 mins , same thing

The found new hardware wizard says " the hardware you installed will not work untill you reboot your PC" and thats for the USB mass storage device.

Its not totally frozen , as the clocks changing time . But the touchscreen remains unresponsive ?

try using a usb mouse plugged in to a usb hub,

Make sure the mouse is pluggen in from power on else windows might not see it.

i have the same problem as mrluke, other problem is after it boots and come up with the service failed message and i have to cycle power off to restart it and the whole distro refuses to boot again (gets stuck at crcdisk.sys) so i have to format the pendrive and reinstall again from scratch.

I did notice that it was faster to do an image over again and let it find the drivers rather than wait. I was able to boot the W2003 from the side USB port with or without a hub. I couldn't boot the image though using the inside USB port.

ok, i managed to get it all working with the pendrive (seagate 6gb micro hard drive) attached to a belkin usb 4 port hub and usb mouse.

I reinstalled a fresh OS, plugged it into the belkin hub with the mouse attached and then plugged in the power connector... the mouse wont work unless its booted from the start with it plugged in (rather than plugging a usb mouse in once the os boots to desktop) install any hardware windows drivers that come up and it will ask you to reboot, you should then be able to get back into your install without a reinstall (you have to cycle power when it reboots as it wont boot back off pendrive if oyu dont)

Touch-Screen doesnt work from first boot but by going to control panel > system and then to the hardware tab > Device Manager and find under the mouse section a HID-compliant mouse with a yellow exclamation. just right click it and select update drivers and follow the recommended settings it will reinstall and enable touch screen.

the realtek ethernet doesnt seem to be working either but i havent installed the latest drivers yet (just what 2003 was bundled with so ill try that later.

@dan thanks for the release, ill send a fiver your way :)

Dan,
Your Paypal stuff works fine.

Pacman99uk; I was able to get the internal NIC to work fine by changing the autonegociation to 100Mbs Full. It just worked for me; but not sure if its the right way. BTW you will get some very odd MAC addresses unless you put in your own.

I'll try to set up an image with a whole bunch of USB devices working; IE: mouse, keyboards, wireless keyboard etc. Only thing though its seems to look at the device and device order on the USB bus.

No worries pac, And thanks for the donation!

Yeah ethernat can be enabled, and the mouse not being recognized is similar to how a PS/2 mouse wont work unless plugged in from boot.

Pac use the drivers for the NIC that I posted above in a link. They seemed to work better. Also unplug the NIC cable when first booting; as sometimes I think the NIC card itself is causing the stall in the boot. Once booted go and change the NIC speed. Reboot again without the cable. It should show up as not connected. Once you see this then just plug the cable in and you will see the interface looking for a DHCP address. If you leave the NIC to autonegociate then when you plug the cable in; it'll lock up.
