Hi all, just looking to locate the latest ubuntu/xubuntu 14.04 from a recent laptop crash. i cant seem to find the image on Jwills site, link isnt triggering the download, can anyone share a link? Thanks in advance

14.04 is quite old. You can find 18.04 base here: https://openbeak.net/openframe/images/u ... 3.16.85op/

Thanks i'll take a look, clearly i cant go for the latest 24.04 and try it on joggler HW, that would be a bit too enthusiastic.
12.04 and 14.04 were the direct download builds i found that worked out the box when burnt onto a USB via Rufus or Yumi.

The big challenge i have is creating the BTRFS / EXT4 file system from the ubuntu ISO download, thats the bit i got stuck on.

Might want to give a newer debian install a try instead.

Bit late perhaps, but you can install a desktop onto the new Debian images, no problem. Off the top of my head it'd be something like:

sudo of-install xserver
sudo apt install xubuntu-desktop
You only need to add X with the install script because it throws a couple of useful settings in there, iirc. Beyond that you can just follow any generic Linux desktop instructions. :)
