Merry Christmas all! I'm battling a real dose of this darn virus at the moment, so even typing takes remarkable effort.

Thank goodness for my 5G injections earlier in the year! ;)

I swear, I'll have Debian images in 2022. Honest. :roll:

Aw, thanks everyone! :)

I could "see" the virus approaching - other half works in the NHS and young 'un's at primary school, so it was only a matter of time. :?

Here the week before Christmas one grade school grandchild (10) became sick with mild symptoms. Son, wife, 2 boys and 1 girl all tested positive a few days later. In 2021 grandson's school went to remote learning which only lasted a month or two and did not work then school went to in school classes.

Noticing here lately a few family friends that were vaccinated (1,2,3) are getting sick with mild symptoms and testing positive. Some friends that never wanted to get vaccinated are way more sick with new infections. One friend (and his wife) in TX is just recovering getting sick the week before Christmas and still sick a couple of days ago. (fever, congestion, et al).

Wife's work downtown main operations bank shut down (around January 2, 2022) and went to remote operations until further notice (Chicago). 95% of 2021 she worked in a DR facility (just 4 of them) and rest of folks worked remotely from home.

Original plans were Christmas Eve at Son's house. Daughter/husband and new baby were going there. (total of 12)

Shifted plans to daughters house (plus daughters mother and grandma (91) and linked both houses with video which was on for entire night.

Son's house ==> 5
Daughter's house ==> 7

Aw, that's lovely, @pete - when we were doing video calls I was thinking about whether we could get a TV big enough to make it feel like there was just another room. :lol:

Thankfully I came off worst in this house, my daughter got some sniffles and my wife was a bit ill for a few days. Knocked me sideways for a bit despite the jabs, but all fine now. Sadly we had some family who didn't make it, in the early days before the vaccines were available. Though they had other complications besides.
