wireless stability on linux

Someone mentioned to me that they find the wireless unstable in my builds. In my latest builds I include the latest card firmware, but there is a vendor driver that is newer than the in kernel staging one, that may work better - so i have packaged it up. So for anyone who wants to try can do

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rt2870sta-dkms

(it will download and then compile so it takes a little while)

Spooky - just after I read this I started to get dropouts & wildly varying signal strengths. Have downloaded the new drivers & also installed wicd in place of network manager. Fingers crossed!

Fantastic - I've been building this myself for the previous kernel, but never got around to it on the new one.

I noticed that the Joggler wouldn't connect to my Apple Time Capsule as an 802.11n device unless this 2.4.0.0/1 driver was installed, so speed always maxed out at 'g' rates. With this installed it always connects at 'n' speeds.

I'd vote this in as a default for the next image!

Any chance I could get this driver via native joggler O/S or a windows pc?

Also, do you know how I can get other drivers for update in the same way. I've seen many forums where it/s unclear which drivers are for which OS!

Thanks buZz - but the wireless driver on jogglerwiki is 2.3.0.0. For the native OS, how can I 2.4.0.0/1. Also for the native OS, how can I set the thermal throttling limits; the c-states; get updated drivers re sound, video, usb etc? All info seems to be for usb OS only.

I've not spent any time looking at the native os so I can't really help you sorry. My interest with the Joggler was in not using the native os
