Reflash System for OpenFrame

Welcome to the Joggler forum pepilo!

The reflash boot disk has a directory called reflash. I am guessing that is where you are copying your two files to.

The two files for the operating system and the MD5 checksum file and Squeeze Play OS are all less than 466Mb.

1 - Version 30300 firmware and MD5 file are 136Mb
2 - Squeeze player USB installer and boot disk image are 12Mb - you do not need to use reflash for SqueezePlayer native OS
3 - Squeeze Play OS is two flavors ; one for the O2 Joggler and one for the Openframe with two speakers in front.
The named two files that you copy to your reflash directory are around 220 Mb.

now it works!
I flashed a joggler with Squeeze Play OS. My fault was to copy the unpacked os file to the reflash directory.
Sorry I did not read the instructions carefully.

Good news pepilo!

Another little patch I would suggest is to write a mac address to the internal network card as it comes out of the factory with no firmware. Easy to do.

1 - write a seabios rom in place of the efi rom
2 - boot to a dos based OS
3 - write the firmware to the Realteck NIC
4 - write back the EFI original BIOS
5 - now you have a mac address on the integrated realtek NIC card.

A strange one here, it looks like I managed to flash the reflash to my Jogglers internal so it boots up without a reflash USB stick in and says no reflash image found.
I made another reflash USB stick and tried the blind boot method but it always seems to boot to internal
Any ideas please

Ok so I managed to rescue this Joggler using the blind typing method after re writing the re flash on to another USB and confirming it actually booted first on another Joggler.
It was a weird one to fix as I was not sure that I had booted to internal with reflash mistakenly put on or to the USB stick which is what I wanted.

Did you manage to flash the reflash to the internal flash, meaning it asked to flash the flash?

Good you've managed to sort it - that issue shouldn't happen with the new images due to changes in the way the boot device is identified. External devices will always be given priority. Previously an external device could start the boot, but might find the internal flash first and use that as the root.

The reflash system itself needs updating to the new image, but it's loooow on the list of things to do as it's one trick pony anyway.

Yes I was stupid it was interesting to solve it anyway. Thanks for the tool as without it i could not have fixed countless Jogglers.

I am having a little issue with the reflashing tool which has always worked very well in the past I have tried it installed on a usb stick and also on an SD Card in a card reader . The system boots up as normal first the open peak logo then the Reflash page then it goes through the normal automatic loadings . However when you get to the page that normally will advise you that you are about to change and checks the img.gz and m5 files instead it shows a message that there is File Confusion and that it does not recognize the files in the reflash folder . I have tried using the 3010 firm ware Squeezeplayer OS and Ubuntu Bionic . All taken including the check sum and all copied to the reflash folder without any extraction but I am still getting the same message can anyone identify what has gone wrong and suggest anything I can do to correct things ?

Andrew, put the stick in your computer, navigate to "Reflash" and delete any files present.

Then download them again, only direct the download to the "Reflash" folder.

After download has completed, revisit the "Reflash" folder to check all is well

That's my normal procedure

Downloading directly to the Reflash Folder does seem to make a difference rather down load and then copy across to the folder . Will keep this in mind going forward. Updated things now and both Jogglers working .
