retail install i tried on my joggler was really slow and still had the same problems as the foshiz editions,
but now Pete has figured out the Ethernet problem all we need to sort is the internal speaker, which i have been told can be enabled through an ini edit, but i have not had any success in doing it this way as of yet

I didn't know there was two versions of the wired chips. What MAC address do you see with your wired card?
None the less its working OK. The posted version of XP is less than 4Gb. My testing version is less than 8 Gb. I'm kind of playing with the two of them. The 8Gb that I am playing with is kind of customized for home automation and set up to talk to the mothership in the house.
Playing today with the sound thing. Here is what I found so far:

I also found an inf change to a configuration file relating to the audio drivers such that you will have speaker sound. You remove the Audio drivers and use the modified with the INF file setup. I haven't tried that one yet.Download this software :
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND- ... udio.shtml
Open Regedit and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows
Find CSDVersion Key
Legend:
100 (hex) means its SP1
200 (hex) means its SP2
300 (hex) means its SP3
Change CSDVersion from 300 to 200 and Restart
Install kb888111xp2.exe (Microsoft UAA Patch)
Change CSDVersion back to 300.
Restart
Install device drivers

Great news Dan. I've deinstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers with no luck yet.

I went looking by Eric Huang's web site and while seeing multiple different XP build's I couldn't really find anything relating to the sound piece.
I also wrote regarding maybe some command line options for his Joggler brightness controll application.

haha. I'm not sure about that!danfoshizzle wrote:what os is winning pete? would not surprise me if one of buzz's linux builds is winning, the man is a genius after al lol
Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Well; kind of interesting about this.
One of the Jogglers will remain on my desk as the "test" device; not really for use in "production" but rather to "play" with relating to Buzz's Ubuntu image, Android image and XP image.
There is no other device today that I know of that you can switch OS's so easily with a capacitance screen.
Currently kind of also playing with the HP Touchpad. While I've already kind of modded it; it'll do both Android and HP WEB OS and Linux.
The current crop of Android tablets are better off rooted and modded a bit and or with installed CE6.0.
So really its not what OS is winning; its more that the Joggler itself is winning; and you Dan have provided the Joggler community with the ability to run MS XP (and other MS OS); which in itself is a great feat!

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
I've got a Touchpad too @pete_c - what do you make of CyanogenMod Alpha 2. Stable enough yet?
Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Considering I've not played too much yet with the HP Touchpad / Android on a large touchpad; its OK; BUT I am a newbee relating to said things. I did initially overclock it and did add Preware right away. Its my nature to tinker. I ordered 5 and only got one though.
