Dan,

Good luck. I've never seen that before. I did purchase a couple of the small netop shuttles around Christmas time and noticed that the WLAN card was totally integrated into the bios. I had to update the bios to get the Shuttle to work right. (it was too new?)

Just read over the documentation and watched the "take apart" video. Looks simple enough.

Do you know what the Zif connector on the CPU side of the board known as J1 is for?

Hi, can someone tell me how to get the image working with vmware? Do i need to download the correct hardware profile for the joggler or something?

Image boots up but with no touchscreen.

I used a hub that worked for me in ubuntu netbook edition attached with a mouse and the mouse received power but I got no cursor.

Can't shutdown and reboot after automatic driver installs because of no input and everytime I remove power the image becomes corrupt: at next boot, it hangs after multi part mup.sys

Thanks for the hard work and let me know if you need testing.

Verg0.

I utilize VMWorkstation and typically use an ISO to build. I did try to "load" the image with VM Workstation and it didn't work. You could snapshot the image with VMware via the network and try that? I haven't tried. I have VNC and RDP running fine on the Joggler and this morning was using VNC to make some adjustments. I tried a couple of ways to change the MAC address on the internal NIC. One way is the "android" way of putting the mac in the grub.cfg; it didn't work. The other way was just changing it in the advanced nic configuration settings. I was able to change it. When it boots now it is a different MAC but it still locks up when I plug in a cat5 cable.

facetook,

Which image? The one before the one I posted (posted by Dan) didn't load up the touchscreen stuff. I took his image and let it install a few drivers; IE: touchscreen and generic HID mouse and keyboard. I did this booting up with a different EFI setup. After it was done I reduced the size of the image a bit and re-imaged and posted it above. If you have a mouse and keyboard connection; it'll take a bit to load the drivers. Just wait a few minutes and you will see them come up.

Yes; I've changed my built in NIC such that it is a different MAC address and it still does the same. Reading on the Linux Ubuntu / Android stuff; it was as simple as just changing the MAC address. I went thru the registry entries and they all matched the new MAC address. "ipconfig /all" does also show a unique MAC for the built in NIC. In reference to the Shuttle net top machine (again); when the BIOS didn't have the WLAN stuff; the Wintel device manager; plug n play didn't even see the WLAN card in it.

Dan, would it maybe be in the EFI stuff /USB boot stuff relating to the hardware?

I've left it on overnight running a couple of applications with no other issues. The RW to the flash drive is a bit different then it was to the 1.8" hard drive. The 1.8" drive actually looks like a bit of a hodpodge of wires put together on my desk.

Works fine; but ordered a regular mini 1.8" drive case for it last night; just to be on the safe side protecting the bare drive a bit.

Here's a couple of VNC pics. Once is just the USB devices that I have hooked up and the other is just the IPConfig /all statement.

Thanks Dan. Copied old to new backup directory. Copied new into the FAT directory. Rebooted.
Just thought that this new faster USB stick has a flashing LED and read some where that that is too much of a power draw sometimes.

Files in RAR are:

boot.nsh (replaced old one)
xoj.efi (new one)
vga.rom (replaced old one)

Initially unplugged and attempting to boot off of usb hub connected memory.
So far boot failed at: "Invalid BOOT.INI file and Error opening NTDETECT.COM, status = 0002"

Removed memory stick from hub and plugged it in directly to Joggler USB port.

Appears to start booting process "normally" and very quick. Way fast. Touch screen working fine. I don't have my keyboard/mouse though cuz of the hub stuff. Will VNC to device to check memory. Forgot; no NIC cuz I unplugged hub. Touch works well. Went to Control panel system. Memory now at 496 of RAM. Plugged in network cable. Went to control panel system and enabled internal NIC. Device manager went to being unresponsive. Touch quit.

Rebooted with cat5 plugged into NIC port. Booting appears normal & fast. Went to Control Panel, system properties, memory as before at 496 RAM, Device still disabled.

Rebooted again without the NIC cable plugged in. Actually looks that the boot process is less than a minute. Lost time/date but has been doing that. Control panel, system properties, mem 496, Device manager, enabled realtek PCIe GBE Family controller, shows cable disconnected (it is).

This time rebooted again. Very quick response times; reminds me of the 1.8" drive response times. Waited until all icons up. Brightened screen. Now wondering if the page file needs to be bigger since Microsoft recommends a twice the size of Ram paging file. So wonder if I should take it to 1Gb; should be ok with the 8Gb stick. Plugged network cable in. Touch froze up. Waited a bit. Nope doesn't come back.

Unplugged and tried putting memory stick in hub. Same error as before; Invalid BOOT.INI file and Error opening NTDETECT.COM.

Tried the four port hub instead of the seven port hub. Same thing; Invalid BOOT.ini and Error opening NTDETECT.com.

The boot process is showing:
Path : Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci (1D | 7)/Usb(4, 0)/Usb(4, 0)
Path : Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci (1D | 7)/Usb(4, 0)/Usb(4, 0)/HD (Part1, Sig0042347C)
Path : Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci (1D | 7)/Usb(4, 0)/Usb(4, 0)/HD (Part2, Sig0042347C)
Path : Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci (1E | 7)
joggler internal storage detected: Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(1E|2)
HDBoot: Found active partiton #0
HDBoot: Found valid boot sector on parition #0. Booting...
load internal NTLDR, and boot
test test .............!
Then on to the boot errors mentioned above.

So Dan; it works kind of; way faster but now only allows booting via a direct connection; doesn't work via a hub though. Its doing what the previous EFI did; that's why I switched it to the EFI before the last one you posted (with the IMG file).

Touch screen works and very fast.

The adobe flash took a chunk of space and so did the Dot Net 2.0 stuff.

Maybe it was just the time it took to install .net 2.0 and me in my old age thinking time is space.

I see paging file is being dynamically set to 742Mb. Think I'll leave it there for now.

Next to the Joggler I have an 8" Lililput Touch screen running XP on a first gen Atom CPU. It now appears to be slower than the Joggler.
