Hi,
I've just installed the Squeezeplay OS onto two O2 Jogglers and both are running well (thanks to everyone who's contributed to this). The only minor thing I can't get working on either is keeping the standby clock image on screen when on standby (i.e. the device is still on but the power button has been pressed). On my real Squeezeboxes they permanently show the date and time when on standby, but on the Jogglers the standby image only shows when you touch the screen before disappearing after 10 seconds.
In the screen settings I've chosen the Digital Clock (Black) to display 'When Off' and Display Standby to Disable Standby', which would expect to do the trick. I'm running the Jogglers from my Synology NAS which has LMS installed. Can anyone suggest where I've gone wrong please? Thanks very much.
Squeezebox standby display not showing
Re: Squeezebox standby display not showing
For what it's worth, if I copy your settings I get the same result: when switched off the clock only appears when you touch the screen, and then only briefly.
As a workaround to get the behaviour you want (a clock that's always on show when there's no music playing), how about going back into your screen settings and selecting:
'When off' = 'screen off'
'When stopped = 'digital clock'
...then simply never turn the player off with the power button. Just stop the music, and you'll have a clock after your preferred delay. Don't suppose the Joggler cares whether it's 'stopped' or 'off'?

Re: Squeezebox standby display not showing
Thanks for the reply - glad it's not just me! I'm running that workaround at the moment, but the only drawback is that it means I can't sync the Jogglers with other devices without having the Jogglers constantly playing whenever something else is on. I'm sure there must be some setting I'm missing somewhere though...
Re: Squeezebox standby display not showing
Good point - I never sync my Squeezeplayers, so I hadn't thought of that drawback!

Set the clock to appear 'when stopped' rather than 'when off' and leave SqueezePlay 'on'. This will leave the screen on unless you've got a display standby time set.
This is a quote from roobarb in a post somewhere here.
Works for me. Just pause the file that is playing and the clock will appear in a short while.
Don't know if it effects the 'sync' issue.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately when the device is 'on' (even if the screensaver is on) activating any of the devices it's synced with will make the Joggler start playing the same thing. Another workaround would be to mute it and only turn it up when in use, but it just seems odd that it won't hold the screensaver when in standby.

Try this:
In the LMS, go to Settings> Player> select the player (whatever you call the Joggler running Squeezeplay )>select Synchronise in the drop-down box
and try the different settings (either sync power or maintain sync)
Re: Squeezebox standby display not showing
I can't see anything in the LMS settings that would fix this, as the device is always 'on' in order for the stopped play screensaver to kick in. It's already set to power on/off separately from group players, but in order for the screensaver to work it's not possible to actually turn it off. I do appreciate the suggestions though.
