Whoops

Post by MightyDob »

Evening all,

I think through tiredness I've managed to do something quite stupid when trying to put Squeezeplay OS on a jogger (which I've done plenty of times), I think ive flashed birdlikewires reflasher onto the internal memory itself, think it was a simple case of picking the wrong image. So now i get the reflasher when I turn on the jogger, and when trying to rectify it by using the reflasher with the Squeezplay OS image on it, it does not boot from the usb :(

Hopefully someone can help, i hope I've not ruined a perfectly good joggler :(

Thanks in advance

start over from scratch, ie, reflash it with O2 firmware first (also on birdslikewires website)

hi,

thanks for your reply.

ive tried using a USB stick with the reflasher on it and the O2 frirmware but the joggler loads the reflasher on the internal memory and not the USB (I think) Is there something else i should be doing?

thanks again

Try using the HP format tool to clean the USB stick,

http://hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool.en.softonic.com/

then put the OpenPeake image on the clean stick.

You can also right click on the image in Ubuntu and tell it to format and write the image to a stick. Takes only a couple of minutes. To run Live Ubuntu just download the ISO and boot up to it.

sorry forgot to update. As suggested I popped the last Openpeak image on a USB stick and the Joggler flashed fine. I then popped squeezeplay OS on it no problem :)

Thanks for everyone's help :D

Good news there Mighty Dob.

What is a nice thing about the Joggler is that you cannot break it.

The boot EFI OS is on a chip and can be easily replaced and a USB stick is a USB stick.

Here I mostly utilize the Jogglers as terminals to my automation stuff or multimedia.

The Jogglers just keep ticking 24/7 with absolutely no issues.

Everything I learned about the o2 Joggler and Openpeak devices in general came from this web forum. (BuZz and Roobarb! and others)
