Hawsey, just to let you know, the stick is on ebay at 0.99p bids with approx £2.50 P&P - I have just bid on one closing in 12hrs. As this is 32gb am I correct in saying that I can put a few of these programmes onto it and they will all work retrospective on the joggler without corrupting each other?

I have been thinking about what I want my now working joggler to do - although I can't seem to get onto the Internet with it : Google comes up and then every page I try says that it is not available!
Once working properly - would I be able to use it to monitor my security cameras? I have a monitor upstairs and it would be really good for one downstairs too - ie the joggler!??

Erm no for putting a few builds on one usb stick , I would buy a few sticks and have say xubuntu on one , Android on another etc , you can fill each build up with whatever programs you want then power down the joggler and remove it , nothing will be lost , wireless settings etc will remain .
A very good insurance policy though is to take an "image " of your stick once it is how you want on to a hard drive as sticks can become corrupted .
I've got a bag of joggler usb sticks with various builds on ha .

For security cameras the ICS android build would probably work ok but the video will be a bit jittery .
I think Pete on this forum uses Xp and Xubuntu for home automation type stuff it depends if you want it simple or not :-)
Happy Joggling

I have some xubuntu software but now need to download the bbc iplayer etc - is that the PNP III software?
Welcome to the community. Now that you have managed to get one distro running, you might want to play around with others. You just need to shutdown your system properly, pull the stick out, put in a USB stick with a different operating system, reboot and voila! ... you have a different machine (well, the same machine but doing different things ... you know what I mean.)

It's worth playing around to see what you like.

BTW - iPlayer should run in a browser on Xubuntu, just as it would on your PC. The iPlayer site is responsive, so the screen size of the Joggler won't cause difficulty. I would recommend a USB hub to run your stick from; this will allow you to use a mouse/keyboard in other ports on the hub. It can be difficult navigating a linux distro on the Joggler by touch alone.
