so, c filesystem? I can pastebin the rest of the startup if you'd like.
Would you mind? Or just drop it between code tags again here.

This is unfinished. It's not far from finished, but there are things that need testing.
To Test:
  • Reliability of the original, unmodified RT2770F internal Joggler wireless card. Just configure your network see how it compares to previous versions.
  • Reliability of the internal audio, particularly automatic muting of internal speakers when inserting and removing headphones.
  • Does it work at all on an OpenFrame 2? I've not tried. :)
...
Thanks in advance to those that give it a whirl!
Hi Roobarb;
hopefully this is not sounding audacious - at least I don't mean it that way:
Do you have a rough idea when this version will be out of beta / be stable?
I am still running version 109 and I am planning to update to the newer / final Version.
However, since my Joggler is build into a wall-mount and is thus difficult to update, I don't want to make too many s/w iterations.
(This is also the reason why I am not helping with beta testing: It takes me 1/2 hour to get 'under the hood' on the joggler / behind the wallmount; also, looking at your open Items: I use LAN; WLAN is unplugged / replaced by the USB stick running SP OS)

Thanks again your all your work on this!

Best regards, Heiner

No problem - I'm hoping to have it finished in the next week or so; it's really tweaks and testing now (more to SqueezePlay than the OS, actually). In fact, I'd like to run it a little more on my own gear at home as well, just to see how it settles in. Let's say two weeks, just for safety! ;)

Cool!! Can't wait to check it out.
Although I am a bit frightened to get everything setup as it was. I think though, for settings and plugins there is somewhere in the squeezebox-forum an explanation which folders/files to save.
Ah - and one question: For some exotic audio file formats, there was the need in LMS logitech media server to have 'mplayer' installed - I remember that I fiddled quite a bit on the Joggler to get it done - and can't remember how I did it. -> Is that now part of your install or do you know how to install it?

All the best and again: Thanks for this great, great software!!!

Yeah, mplayer is installed by default on v2 and will be on v3 as well. I'm sure it was on v1 too, though...

@Roobarb,

will this version include a working youtube plugin and / or the EDO applet as additional feature?

Thanks for all your engineering work! Enjoying SqpOS everyday!!

I don't do anything with the plugins, so insofar as YouTube goes, it's not something I've looked into.

I did look into the EDO setup, but unfortunately the only way to make it work is with a precompiled binary which breaks compatibility with the standard audio outputs. I'd rather build a solid base that works for every Joggler / OpenFrame out of the box (plus I don't have a suitable audio interface to test with - the majority of our gear is FireWire) so this will continue to be something that interested users will need to do themselves.

It would be cool if someone with experience of the EDO stuff could rustle up a switching applet. :)

MY LMS tells me that mplayer is not installed; trying to SSH install it fails as it's already installed. Can anyone un-stump me please ?

Thanks,
Mike.

Is this still on the Beta or have you tried the release version yet?

Mplayer is working fine on my own Joggler but I'm still using version 1.09 so my experience may not be relevant here.

Is it possible to install the EMGD drivers in SqPOS, so that I can have actual accelleration? The kernel drivers _SUCK_ terribly.

Short answer "No", long answer "Yes", with a but. I replied to your PM, but you're probably better off using BuZz's Ubuntu builds which have EMGD preinstalled, then installing SqueezePlay. BuZz's builds have the installer script for SqueezePlay ready to launch.

To do it in SPQOS would require getting the EMGD drivers to work with 3.14 - I believe there may be a patch out there now... ah, yes:

https://github.com/EMGD-Community/intel ... 6588c24367
Then you'd also need to downgrade Xserver and pin a bunch of packages.

Just use BuZz's. They're spot on for EMGD and the reason I don't try to duplicate that work in SQPOS.

Yeah, I should close this thread seeing as the beta is done with. I'm guessing LMS is looking in the wrong place for mplayer... though it's not moved!

There are enough little things cropping up for a v3.01 now. Should probably warm up the build environment again. :)

Nip over to the SqueezePlay OS v3 thread and see if anyone is clued up over there.
