NAS Serrver connection issues
Hi. I hope someone can help me here because i am at a loss with this. My Squeezebox server runs on my Netgear Readynas Duo. I can access the server with no problem through the port 9000 IP address and perform any actions required. I have rebuilt the database etc. and there have never been any connection issues from that point of view. However, the Jogglers are a completely different story. I have two connected to my home network. The connection has never been the most reliable at the best of times (very intermittent). I have tried resetting the Jogglers and starting them from scratch, inputting the relevant information to rule that out. They are connected via Ethernet through a switch, but have tried wiring it directly to the router to rule out the switch being faulty. On set-up, the joggler takes a few tries to find the server, but it does eventually show up. The connection just times out when I try to connect though. I can sometimes get a connection to the internet radio, but not very often. Most of the time it says its connected and shows images on the screen for the current show etc. but there is no seek bar for the play time, and no audio. It does say playing at the top if the screen though. Previously I have had a Squeezebox touch, but replaced it with the Jogglers as they did work at first. I'm no computer genius but can find my way around a computer so hopefully someone out there can help me.

How are you specifying the default music library in Squeezeplay?

Hi, the location is /media/music
Re: NAS Serrver connection issues
I mean in Squeezeplay on the Joggler. You have to use My Music - Switch Library. Assuming you set up LMS on the NAS with a Media Library name (see Settings, Basic Settings tab) - you should be able to select the nas. Squeezeplay should remember the setting.

the name that appears when i select the library is NGReadyNAS, which is the actual name of the NAS drive. The squeezebox can see the NAS but cant seem to connect.
Re: NAS Serrver connection issues
1. LMS is running on NAS ?
2. Where is the music ?
3. Did you set the Music Library to music location? Give it a name like NASmusic (or whatever)
4. Let it scan
5. In Squeezeplay - choose Switch Library to NASmusic (or whatever name you gave it)

Re: NAS Serrver connection issues
Hi, sorry for not getting back sooner. I've been working away for a few weeks. The Server is running on the nas, which is also where the music is stored. The server has been set to the correct location and it scans completely and discovers any new music I add. I can see the library in Squeezeplay switch location but it just times out. In the mean time My Netgear NeoTV 350 media streamer has started to do a similar thing. That now refuses to log in even though i can see the server. This leads me to believe that it is something with the Router, but I don't know what could have changed. Maybe a firmware update has messed something up. At the moment I'm unsure.

Hmmm .... have you rebooted the router?
