new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
Thanks. I will give it a try. It would be great to get utube working
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
if you upload it to my ftp, i can make the image available to download without having to use the online download services.dwl99 wrote:I've made a disk image of Android 2.2 v1.2.3. It has been shrunk to 3.5GB so it should fit on all those undersized 4GB USB drives out there. If the Market doesn't work try the "market fix" as previously described. I think that this version of Android is better than 1.2.4 as it is more stable and will allow a wider variety of apps to run. You can download it from http://www.mediafire.com/?wotjcjzybv4w4 - sorry, but I needed to split it into 12 files to upload it.

Fab, if you can pm me the ftp details I'll upload it. Although it's 2GB zipped!
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
i posted them in the other thread, thought you would spot it there
it's

Yep, I did - now uploading to your /incoming/joggler folder
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
Link to the zip file does not work for me , unless perhaps it is the work network stopping access. Just get a blank when clicked on and saving target of the hypertext does nto work either.
Any ideas what is wrong or I am doing wrong ?

Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
which link? are you trying to download the zip that is being uploaded to my ftp? that's a write only incoming folder, and the upload isn't complete. When it is complete it will be moved somewhere where you can access it.rsjackson wrote:Link to the zip file does not work for me , unless perhaps it is the work network stopping access. ahh , gotcha , thanks.
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
uploading with Filezilla but connection keeps dropping after a couple of hours. Will keep trying. Sigh.
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
i didnt realise my ftp incoming permissions allowed "overwriting". not very secure if it does. might have to change that. maybe split it into smaller parts?
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
I'll upload the 12 smaller files in that case

thanks dwl99, using your img, works great. youtube works. does the latest version in the market? i haven't updated for fear of losing it. heh.
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
yes, it's safe to update. In general, if any app fails to update then just leave it as it is.
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
@BuZz - have finally finished uploading the 12 zipped files 24h after I started!
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
can you md5sum the combined zip your end so i can make sure mine is complete/not corrupted. also - i was wondering, how come the image is so large? is there just a lot of data in the android image, or has the free space not been zeroed from the image ?
Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
please see
http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/img/android/
the img.gz is after cleaning the free space and repacking. somewhat smaller. please test if it works, and if so we can use that instead of the zip.

Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
I cannot get cifs manager to work. The problem seems to be creating folders in /mnt, e.g. I cannot create a /mnt/cifs/Music folder with Root Explorer. It tells me that the folder has been created but it isn't there. When Root Explorer opens the /mnt folder there is no "mount R/O" etc button at the top of the screen. I cannot create the folders with Terminal Emulator as it won't install on the Joggler. I even put my USB stick in a Linux machine but couldn't access anything as the relevant folders were locked.
I assume it's a problem with permissions. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks guys for all your work getting android working on the joggler!
I've tried the latest tweaked v.1.2.4 and though it's great, most apps just won't install or run.
I've downloaded v 1.2.3 from these two sources:
http://www.mediafire.com/?wotjcjzybv4w4
http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/img/android/
but unfortunately they both extract to 4+GB, not the 3.5GB stated, so won't fit on my 4GB usb stick (which is actually 3.83 GB).
I keep getting "not enough space on disk" write error using win32diskimager-RELEASE-0.3-r27
Is there a way I can shrink the images or can someone do a 3.5GB version? Cheers.

Re: new Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.3
Mijuu Build 1.2.3 vs Mijuu Build 1.2.4
I tried both images - the one from dwl99 (1.2.3) and the one from jp_hero (1.2.4)
My joggler is not modded, so I have original cooling (plastic cooler) in place.
I have to say that 1.2.4 runs much smoother, I think the reason is that it heats the cpu less so throttling of the CPU is not enabled as often as on 1.2.3. I also think that the top part of the handle at the back is less warm with 1.2.4
In terms of applications, there are issues in both images:
- I could not install sipdroid or connectbot on any of them, I actually could not install ANY voip application
- also once I get market working, once I logged in into my market account I do not see ANY device associated with the account
I would expect to see something like x86 compatible device there and then I assume only x86 apps should be displayed in the market
The small positive thing is that I could install game Robo defence (free version) on 1.2.3 (I did not try on 1.2.4 but i think it will work as well)
