Hi all,
First I would like to say how awesome you all are. I have installed various OSs on my jogglers and had a great time exploring your contributions as well as messing with the capabilities of the joggler.
I have recently updated the stock OS to the most recent version and installed PnP III. It is awesome!
I have added my samba shares to the logitech server, but I would also like to have access to my google music account.
I tried using this https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... cast&hl=en which although it seems to start playing there is no sound produced. I tried various volume related options and nothing happened. I have used squeezeplay to play from other sources with no issues. Has anyone used this and can offer any tips? If not any tips on where I could start to try and diagnose or another app that I could use would be very much appreciated?
Another possible solution would be to install a google music plugin into the logitech server https://github.com/hechtus/squeezebox-googlemusic. This would be fine under the standard USB based OSs simply apt-get the necessary stuff and bam! On the stock OS although linux I have no idea what I am doing. No apt-get and no python. So, does anyone have a standard OS with python installed? If not, a quick tut on how to roll my own OS would be awesome, more hacking for me. I can try and roll the necessary stuff and then release if stable. If there is any reason that this won't work then I can simply move to some Ubuntu installation but the stock OS with PnP III is pretty awesome.

Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
Out of interest, have you tried the Android build for the Joggler? You could try installing the Google Music app.
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
Cool idea. What version of android can currently be run on the Joggler? Does it need to be run on a USB stick?
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
Read all about it! http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... f=2&t=1598 It needs to be run from a USB stick & is very stable. Obviously, you cannot run LMS on it but it works very well as a Squeezeplay device.
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
Cool, will check it out.
Still would like a solution for the stock OS.
I might experiment loading LMS onto my sheevaplug and installing it there to see how it runs.
Or I might dedicate one of my jogglers as an ubuntu server.
What is the app catalogue like for android on x86?

Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
app catalogue not too bad, obviously not much in the way of video-based apps like Youtube. A lot of the stuff that doesn't show up in Google Play can be side-loaded. I run most of the stuff I have on my Galaxy tab on the Joggler. All gapps work (except for youtube).
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
Awesome! Are the video based apps lacking due to the lack of hw acceleration under android on joggler? I would like to maintain iplayer and some movie capability even though I may use it only once in a blue moon. Lots to consider, thanks man!
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
You will still retain iPlayer etc. for occasional use if you can power down your Joggler, pull the Android USB stick out then power up to PnPIII. Not hugely convenient, but not bad for your "once in a blue moon" scenario.
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
I just installed Google Play Music on my Joggler in Android and although it displays my purchased music, it crashes when I try to play it. Maybe a future update will fix it.
Re: Google music on Joggler stock OS
dwl99: Thanks for checking mate. Android doesn't look like an option for now.
gegs: A reasonable suggestion, cheers.
I still don't understand why the google music stream seems to play but doesn't produce any sound. Anyone know and care to explain?
