LOL! Just when you think it's settled into a pattern of early nights, it decides that it wants attention again.gegs wrote:Has it settled down, or is it still keeping you awake at night?offbeatdave wrote:Yay! I've just noticed that PnP III is 1 year old tomorrow!

Great news Dave !!!!!
Your application / scripts stuff for PnPIII have become the newest standard "base" OS for the O2 / Joggler / OpenPeak devices (you know that eh?)

PnP III v3.31 - Available to download now!
Just to confirm, PnP III v3.31 seems OK and can be downloaded from here. (updated 6th May 2013).
It now features the ability to configure PnP III to access your network share from Logitech Media Sever via the Joggler's web interface. To add this functionality to an existing install of PnP III, see the opening post.

Set up access to your share via the web interface. Then in LMS go to Settings->Basic Settings and point the Media Folder path to /media/media/media-sharex (whatever you've set it to in the web interface). It should then scan your files. Occasionally a couple of my Jogglers have hung/needed the scan aborting or report that fewer files than there are. Squeezeplay seems to find them all though. Try lowering the Performance settings in the Settings->Advanced in LMS if necessary.
Read the detailed changelog here.
New to v3.31:
**Network Share mounting can be done via Webserver interface (thanks to the original gforums PnP)
**cifs installed to allow Network Shares to be accessed.
**Newer busybox v1.16.1 installed alongside existing version(as busybox.new) to facilitate network share mounting
**Added more mountpoints (now up to 6) for Network Share mounting.
**Reduced Navigation volume in Squeezeplay - it annoyed me!
**Attempted to tweak Squeezeplay initial menu to add 'Music Folder' once share is set up.
**Updated wireless drivers to version from wiki
**Updated Hotmail icon to Outlook.com icon and renamed
**Changed PnP III logo on Webserver page (bored with previous version!)
**Changed uPnP icon and renamed to 'Play Shared Media' (bored with previous version!)
**Cleaned up and re-tar-ed OpenPeak apps to make more space
**Tweaked numbering system - 3 decimal places was excessive!

Thanks everybody for answering, although i wasn't here to test and reply. So i did fdisk - l, as everybody mentioned and i get the below message. I get the same message with usb in or out...so what seems to be the issue?

You've put a space in between the flag and it's letter. Should be fdisk -l, not fdisk - l.

Just a quick note to say the Quickstart guide (link in opening post) has had a quick update to reflect changes in v3.31
"EVERY DAY I'M JOGGLERING!"
Jogglering since Dec '09;
Tinkering with Jogglers since Feb '10 thanks to PMJ, Jogtools, PnP & sqpOS;
Gave something back Feb '12 to Apr '14 with PnP Mk II & PnP III;
Finally 'completed' PnP III Apr '15!

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
This thread seems to have gone a bit quiet, so I thought I'd get something going. . .
I've just upgrade two Jogglers (software ver. 30300 pnp ver. 3.31).
Everything looks to have installed correctly, and all appears to be working.
However, when I configure my network settings and reboot the Joggler, a number of the icons disappear.
It appears to be related to using a proxy; if I enter proxy details (save) and reboot and the icons disappear.
Disable the proxy, reboot and the icons return.
It happens on both Jogglers, and is repeatable.
I previously had PNP3 3.042 installed and this worked (I don't know what the software version was - probably not 30300).
I rebuilt from scratch several times, and the result always ended p the same.
I've looked /media/appshop/applications.xml, and noticed that all the icons that 'disappeared' had entries that started "loc="http://localhost:80/starter/".
I did look around the forum but didn't find an answer.
Any ideas?
I know I'm probably in a minority using a proxy server but I'd really appreciate hlp to get this resolved.
Thanks

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
Odd. Nothing internal changed in the latest version of PnP. Roobarb may be able to advise if anything changed under the hood in the reflashed OS. I'll have a play next week, time permitting.

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
Very odd, and perhaps a bit unfair to point the finger at pnp, because I upgraded the software to 30300 as well.
I was hoping it would be an "ah yes, that's a . . . " problem, because I'd made a simple config error.
I haven't had time to go back to a vanilla version of 30300 to test it there. Hopefully I'll get time to test it in the next couple of days.
Might be worth mentioning, the proxy is also the default gateway.

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
I don't connect through a proxy and I'm getting an issue where Tango restarts and the Squeezeplay interface is lost (although it keeps running in the background). Yesterday, after another unsolicited Tango restart, lots of the icons had disappeared from the main interface; probably the most useful one that disappeared was the "restart" icon.
In my situation I think it has something to do with a web server crash because it's happened to me before and I couldn't connect to the Joggler from the web interface to reboot it. It's only happened to me infrequently and, in true "IT Crowd" fashion, switching the Joggler off and on again fixes the problem for long periods.
I just reflashed to roobarb's modified Openpeak image and installed the latest PnPIII in hope of nailing these issues, and they're still happening, but not often enough to be more than a mild irritation when they do.

Hmm. The failing webserver issue happens on one of my many Jogglers every three months or so. No idea what causes it to be honest but it is only on one of my machines, which all run identical OS.

I've just reflashed one f the jogglers with 30300. I added a proxy server to the config, rebooted, and the icons were all still in place and the links working (obviously no pnp icons).fl0bbad0b wrote:Very odd, and perhaps a bit unfair to point the finger at pnp, because I upgraded the software to 30300 as well.

"baseball"
"connect4"
"chess"
"throwpaper"
"checkers"
"Restart"
"Screen off"
I've also just found out that as soon as the proxy details are saved, the programs listed become inactive; the icons are unresponsive.
Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
I'm not getting exactly what you mean. The programs in the "So I'm missing" bit of your post are only available after installing PnPIII but it looks, from your post, as if you've reflashed to the Openpeak 30300 image which doesn't have any of those additional apps. You also won't have Squeezeplay and a few other apps you've not listed. You need to reinstall PnPIII to get them back.
Are you meaning that after you do install PnPIII and change proxy settings the "So I'm missing" list are the ones that don't appear (even though they're installed)?

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - DOWNLOAD v3.31 HERE!
Thank you very much for this brilliant resource. To add to the count I have recovered 3 Jogglers with PNPIII and they are rock solid with no gliches. One of them had a scorched paper effect on the boot screen. Now fully cured.
I have Orb Caster (free) installed on my network and it is accessible from any Joggler full stream with no fuss. I can access webcams and internet TV as welll as the usual media. Your work is much respected.
Excellent.

I think you may have reached my nirvana! Internet tv available on PnP III - brilliant!roger l wrote:I have Orb Caster (free) installed on my network and it is accessible from any Joggler full stream with no fuss. I can access webcams and internet TV as welll as the usual media.
I seem to have lost audio on my fave squeezeplay radio stations (absolute and radio 2). This is replicated on all my pnp'ed jogglers so I'm hoping that this is not just my problem? It says it's playing and shows track details but there's no buffering on startup which is weird and no sound. Is anybody able to check and let me know if they get the same thing please? Thanks.
