Software PNPiii Upgrade

i have 13 files how do i know if there are unzipped or not i get error messages on telnet what i listed in the first post

i wonder if i'm un zipping the files properly and there on the usb stick wright

If you unzip the files and they are in a folder called PnP3_v3.101, you should copy the contents of this folder to the stick, not the folder itself. The stick should contain the following items:

Can I recap.

You downloaded the zipped folder.
You unzipped the folder.
You then copied the contents of the unzipped folder to a clean usb. As a novice, if ever unsure I have just deleted and started afresh. I always keep downloaded files in a separate place to the unzipped. Makes it harder to mess up.

Your joggler is connected to the internet.
You are able to telnet in. How are you doing this?
You are able to log in to your joggler via telnet.

Am I right so far?

If you have done all the above correctly and you're still getting the error message you mentioned in your first post then i'm fairly sure it's your usb. There have been people on here who have got through 8 or so sticks trying to find a usb that the joggler likes.

EDIT: My jogglers are fussy and I often have this problem when updating the pnp software.

i have got it to do it when software installs do you have un plug the joggler your self to reboot

As with most software that you are unfamiliar with, when there is a file called "README and INSTRUCTIONS.txt", it's worthwhile reading it

Open it in Wordpad (not Notepad which screws the formatting) and print it off. Use it as your reference document for installing PnPIII.

The instructions say "Preferably make sure your Joggler is clean and connected to your network (although connection shouldn't be required)" - but this isn't really true if you have to use telnet with the Openpeak OS. Telnet requires the network IP of your Joggler to function so it must be connected by wi-fi or ethernet cable.

If you can connect to any of the web apps on your Joggler, such as the weather app, then it is already connected to your network and all should be OK with the install if you follow the instructions.

Got it working now i see in the picture there is sky sports and sky news app on there but its not on joggler is there a reason why?

I'm not sure what you mean. You don't need to reboot if you are using telnet on the Openpeak OS; PnPIII will reboot the Joggler automatically at the end of its installation and when it's done, all you need to do is remove the stick. You don't need to switch off to do this.

If you are thinking of running the automatic installation on the O2 version then the steps are (after the Joggler has been reflashed back to the original O2 software):

1) unplug the Joggler
2) insert the USB stick containing the PnPIII files
3) plug in the Joggler
4) wait for about half an hour while PnPIII works its magic

Where are you looking? Are they on another screen?

Can you please clarify what you've got working? Is it the reflash or the installation of PnPIII?

i have the installation of PNPIII working now i was just looking through the apps and i see sky news and sky spotrs are not there in offbeatdave instuctions there is a picture of pnpiii software working and there is the apps there just was wondering why they are not on my joggler

The Sky apps stopped working in September last year. Don't forget to read the changelog for current version info.
