Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
With regard to another of your posts; Did you manage to reflash your Joggler first before attempting to install PnPIII?

Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
If you've managed to telnet in, the error message you're getting usually means it doesn't like your usb. Copy the PnP III file to another usb and try again. It can be picky. You may need to try a few usbs.
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
ok will try that
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
Have you managed to connect to your Joggler with telnet?
You have to do this first (and the PnPIII USB stick has to be inserted in the Joggler) before any of the commands to install PnPIII will work.

Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
I have noticed on the instructions is about 106mb mine is about 500mb
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
I tried what you said on the other message that does not work either
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
And i have seen on telnet it says atom but in the instructions is says username for where you put root
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
I have allways done the upgrade to PNPIII by the method that you just put all the files on the usb stick, power on your joggler and let it do its stuff.
Can this method not be used rather than having to telnet In?

Happy Joggling
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
This depends on if you reflash the Joggler to the O2 image or the Openpeak one. O2 Jogglers can use the method of inserting the PnPIII stick to an unplugged Joggler then powering up and letting it do its stuff. Jogglers with Openpeak software need to use telnet to run the commands because the USB installer doesn't work with them.hawsey wrote:I have allways done the upgrade to PNPIII by the method that you just put all the files on the usb stick, power on your joggler and let it do its stuff.

Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
any suggestions on what i can do will inserting pnpiii stick to an unplugged joggler work on mine do you think
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
Do you get the Openpeak logo when you boot up or the blue O2 one with bubbles?
If you get the Openpeak logo you need to use telnet to kick-start the installation of PnPIII.
If you get the blue O2 logo you can just unplug the Joggler, insert the stick and power on again; leave everything alone for about half an hour and you should have a pimped Joggler.
If your Joggler has the Openpeak OS, you don't want to be bothered with telnet and aren't fussed about the additional Openpeak software (mostly games), you can always reflash the Joggler again but use the O2 image this time. Once this process is complete you will be able to install PnPIII using the automatic method.

Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
i wish you could have o2 calander back on and some of ther other software i liked that
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
I'm sure the O2 calendar doesn't work since they abandoned the platform. They updated everybody's Joggler to the Openpeak software. Below is their response to the question "What's happening to the O2 Family Calendar App?" on this webpage - http://bit.ly/GNe0ov :
"It will be removed when the device is updated. However, Google Calendar will be available which we recommend as an alternative.
We’ll give you plenty of time to start using a new service, but we won’t be able to offer you your O2 Family Calendar data back."
Strangely, a similar question is also asked at the end of the list "What’s happening to the O2 Family Calendar?". I suppose one relates to the app on the Joggler and the other to the actual online service. The answer is the same to both, effectively "it's history".

Oh well justneed to get this PNP iii to work some how
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
i wonder if i'm un zipping the files properly and there on the usb stick wright
Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
You will, honestly. Follow the instructions carefully and to the letter and ask questions when you get stuck; we're a helpful bunch and lots of us remember being in the same situation as yourself, a complete newbie with no previous experience of remotely accessing devices with telnet/SSH or writing disk images. If you've managed to reflash the Joggler you will eventually install PnPIII.DAVE1975 wrote:Oh well justneed to get this PNP iii to work some how

Re: Software PNPiii Upgrade
I seem to remember creating the o2 software image was a nightmare for a total beginner. Stick with the openpeak image.
There should be 12 files on your unzipped pnp iii file on your usb.
I think I've lost track of what problem you're having...
