Ubuntu Base/Server 12.04 & Lbuntu Screen Blanking

Hi All

I have installed the excellent base image from Buzz and installed lubuntu as recommended, I am using this as a minimal mythtv frontend & homeautomation information display (Hstouch)

All installed fine, and have got it setup exactly as i want, apart from i cant stop the screen from blanking every five minutes if there is no user input...

I have installed the xfce4 power manager - and set everything to never, however it still blanks!!

I have tried a load of googled solutions - but none seem to work!!

Would anyone have any idea on how to solve this issue???

does lubuntu use xscreensaver or something ? you might want to check if it is that doing the blanking and configure the power saving there.

Thanks for the pointer - xscreensaver was not installed - so i installed it anyway, and set the screensave to come on after 720 minutes - been over 30 mins now without blanking the screen!!!!

ps would you consider doing a "mythbuntu" type release for the joggler?!?!

I'm a bit short on time (too many ongoing projects in my free time), but you know more about mythtv than me, so maybe a project you might enjoy ?

I would like to have a go - but i think packaging up mythtv for the joggler would stretch my skills!

Looks like i might have spoke to soon - the blanking screen has returned ill have to look deeper!!

Cracked it!! For info - to stop the automatic 10 minute blank display do the following :-

sudo vi /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart

add:

@xset dpms 0 0 0
@xset -dpms
@xset s noblank
@xset s off


Save & Reboot!!!!

Job done!!

funny you should mention that. my next message was about using xset as I wondered if there were some xset defaults with lubuntu. glad it's solved!
