Hi everyone, just bought a joggler and want to use it mainly for music , whats the easiest way to get spotify and squeezeplay to work.
I have pnp III installed on my joggler with logitec media server , can anyone tell me which directory i will find my nas in.
Tried to play spotify through squeezeplayer but spotify doesn't seem to recognize any files, i have a premium account.
Cheers for any info
AFAIK The official Spotify app is only supported on official Logitech hardware, I think it's a licensing issue. However I believe triodes Spotify plugin might work. Navigate to the server settings and enable it there. I think it's called 3rd party Spotify plug in or summat like that.
Oh and also to add I'd personally suggest using roobarbs squeeze play OS running from a memory stick. When LMS scans your music the database can soon get too big for the internal flash on the Joggler. You may also be able to run LMS on your NAS or use a PC to run it and stick to PNP. The joggler does an excellent job of running LMS, far far better than my own NAS does.
If you do use SPOS then mounting your NAS is as simple as editing /etc/fstab to mount your network share. If you supply more details on your NAS I can give more specific instructions. It's also possible to mount the NAS in PNP I believe but I think you will run into limitations on database size as previously mentioned.
Another point worth mentioning is if you use Ethernet not wifi for your joggler then you can remove the internal wifi adapter and plug in your USB stick internally. Therefore having a nice clean install with no sticks hanging out the side, or use the external USB for a USB sound card as the internal audio is a bit pants for connecting to an amp.

The Triode plugin is definitely the way to go but, like Spotify on any mobile device, you'll need a premium account for it to work. It's definitely worth the money if you have your Joggler hooked up to your hi-fi. I haven't bought a CD for more than 6 months, although I am paying Spotify a tenner a month.
The only thing that hurts is that US subscribers pay $9.99 a month, European users pay €9.99 and UK users get well and truly shafted at £9.99. Due to the differing currency values we pay much more than other users of the service and methinks it is time to write letters to our MPs.
Must admit I've been tempted many times with Spotify, But I've recently taken to buying 2nd hand CDs of Amazon, most are 1penny plus about £1.20 P+P which I feel long term is a better use of my limited cash. I always worry about the long term longevity of services like these, If Spotify went tits up tomorrow then you'd have no music.
Plus there's something satisfying (to a geek like me at least) in having the best possible quality rips of your own music (Rip once to FLAC then convert if you need a lossy file for your MP3 or phone, I've even discovered that CM7 on my phone natively supports FLAC which is cool)
I do however use Spotify free on my laptop which either streams via Shairplay to 2 of my Jogglers (using (Airfoil on the PC) or via a program called DSBridge to another Joggler that I can't get Shairplay working on (This Joggler has been modified to have an Optical Digital output and I can't get Shairplay to give any sound for some some reason)
Cheers guys for the help, managed to the spotify plug in to work, its fantastic.
Going to try and mount the nas tonight...so wish me luck.
Thanks again.
Matt.
