My second joggler just died
just unplugged it from the kitchen to have a bit fiddle with xbmc os and a tweaked version of the touched skin kindly provided by spoyser and I have stuck on O2 screen!!
Oh well back in the loft for the wired keyboard to try to kick it back in to life as it has no USB boot either boo hoo.
It had been plugged in permanently for about two weeks before this happened, is this happening to anyone else?
Haven't used XMBC specifically, but I do have 3 Jogglers at present that are not always reliable when it comes to rebooting, including via USB. In fact I was tinkering with one using the latest PnP III v3.046 last night which didn't like a reflash and had to be coaxed back into life with a keyboard and a Linux Mint-imaging using a copy of the original mmcblk0.img which I'd made ages and ages ago! It usually seems to come to the rescue, even when roobarb's or the OpenPeak reflasher fail in the first instance. I also have 4 currently on the go which have (touch wood) been bomb-proof when it comes to rebooting and reflashing. Not a single fail on any of these, which incidentally all have the o2 initial boot logo as opposed to the OpenPeak one - the failing ones all have an OpenPeak boot logo. My iffy ones also seem to be a little more robust running the debranded OpenPeak software rather than the original o2 version.
"EVERY DAY I'M JOGGLERING!" Jogglering since Dec '09;
Tinkering with Jogglers since Feb '10 thanks to PMJ, Jogtools, PnP & sqpOS;
Gave something back Feb '12 to Apr '14 with PnP Mk II & PnP III;
Finally 'completed' PnP III Apr '15!
Sorry I made it sound like I had managed to start tinkering with xbmc os but I didn't even get that far!!
I simply unplugged a totally stable PNPIII (i thank you sir )and then tried to boot a USB image and boosh stuck on O2!.
I think the lack of power down on PNPIII or I mean the stock os in particular might not help matters,any thoughts?
Hmm starting to think it might have power down /off but no way of checking now doh lol
IMHO it's safest to run Jogglers from a USB stick as the internal memory seems to be made from rusty bits of old metal and cornflakes. I have had several Jogglers die due to problems with the internal memory.

There isn't a power down at present. I would like to implement this as it just pulling the plug could cause issues I guess. Does anyone know of the appropriate command to do this. I have a reboot script but not a complete power down.

You can now add a SHUTDOWN option to SWF Manager scripts on a PnP III Joggler.
cd /media/appshop/script
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/SHUTDOWN-CAUTION.sh
chmod a+x SHUTDOWN-CAUTION.sh
The SHUTDOWN option will now be available in SWF Manager->Scripts

I think that will be the only way to do it
Remember the joggler is really designed to be left on permanently and is very cheap to run but for those occasions when it does need to be unplugged this new shutdown option is a great option and will possibly avoid corrupting the little beast
The name of the script - SHUTDOWN-CAUTION.sh - puts me off somewhat. The first (and only) time I ever used this script the Joggler wouldn't boot again and I had to re-write the stick (or was that re-flash the Joggler? I can't remember if it was on a USB distro or PnPIII). The reboot problem may have been coincidence but I've not used the shutdown script since.
It would be good to know if anybody else uses this script successfully.
