Atom?
Atom?
When starting SqueezePlay it gives me the option of either a Atom library or mysqueezebox.com. While the latter is self explanatory can someone please tell me what the Atom option is please? I've searched and searched but am still in the dark!

Doesn't work with my usb. Is there something I need to do? Ta.dwl99 wrote:Atom is the name of the local library on the Joggler, e.g. if you have a removable HDD or USB stick or a samba share.

*Log onto Logitech Media Server via another computer on your network via <YOUR JOGGLER'S IP>:9000
(e.g. 192.168.2.98:9000)
*Click on settings in the bottom right.
*In the 'Basic' tab that appears, I think you just need to point the 'Media' folder at /mnt
*You may need to rescan after doing this via the 'Rescan' button.
Try it and see anyhow.

Re: Atom?
I thought I'd post an update in case it's useful to another novice.
I've mostly got it working. I could only get into the joggler lms via my joggler as neither laptop or pc would recoginize the ip:9000. offbeatdave, you're right in the steps you gave me to locate & add usb (I wouldn't have know where to look as there was no arrow & neon sign saying usb!) and a rescan is necessary for the music library to be available. But my rescan keeps freezing and crashing so my music folder isn't available. During rescan crash 'atom' disappears from squeezeplay but reappears on reboot.
I can, however, access tracks from the usb via 'atom' if I look in artist, album etc. Not sure how/why - as it doesn't make sense. It also plays even though the main pc (with lms) is off. Not sure if that's because joggler is connected to lms while scanning or if it'll always be the case?
Thanks both of you - I really appreciate it!

You can see your USB music library from your PC because the Joggler is probably sharing it with your network via Samba. You could try pointing Logitech Media Server on your PC to the Joggler's USB drive & try scanning that as an experiment - if the music folder on your PC's LMS library is also empty then you probably have some corrupt jpeg files or tags in your music collection. Another experiment would be to delete your library from the USB sick, rip 2 or 3 CDs and put only them on the USB stick & see if they get scanned & show up in the folder view.

No I can't see the usb from my pc - I couldn't get into ip:9000 on my pc or laptop at all. I would've tried rescan that way to see if it's more stable.dwl99 wrote:You can see your USB music library from your PC because the Joggler is probably sharing it with your network via Samba. Can access ip:9000 using opera on my joggler and log in sucessfully. If the little bugger would just complete a scan then I know I'd have full access to the usb. The files it's managed to scan are availble to play.
I think the usb & contents are fine - it's a direct copy of the stuff that LMS on my pc is using and I can access everything when I use the music icon in pnpIII (just more awkward to use as a music player when you have over 3,500 to sift through).

Re: Atom?
I've managed to get into joggler lms via laptop by going through the web server so that's at least a step in the right direction.
However it still crashes big time on usb rescan. Have been digging around and discovered that this has happened to others, with no cure for some, and I think I'm one of those. Am going to leave it - is a great idea though so thanks for trying to help me.

Re: Atom?
It looks like the server is now always working in the background. As I can't use atom, does anyone know how i remove the server from my joggler?
Re: Atom?
Just open a browser in your pc or Joggler & navigate to the Joggler's IP address & you should be able to turn it off from there. Although it can still be useful for running your plugins such as Tunein Radio or podcasts if your PC is off.

Re: Atom?
Do you mean the little power off button that shows in the top right hand corner of the server? Or is there something a little more substantial?
Edit: Not to worry. Sorted. Ta.
