You can temporarily resolve the issue with Florence by going to the settings icon (The spanner on the left hand side), swapping to "Touch screen" and then swapping back to "Mouse", but to be fair, I found that doing that occasionally provoked a crash in X...

switching on "Enable sound feedback" seems to fix it here - can you check what your setting for that it on florence. there wont actually be any audio, since I disabled the audio config in the code.

I'll check the settings on the releases I have made and fix them up if needed.

I loaded up xbuntu.

The gmusic player is nice, but somehow I have managed to hide the main panel that has settings on it. I cant seem to find a way to show the main panel again.

Also, with the florence keyboard, I get letters being repeated continuously. So I use onboard. Any ideas what the prob is as I prefer florence.

if gmusicplayer is minimised click and hold over the systray/notification icon. xbmc has a better touchscreen interface though.

Just another problem that I am having. The reboot and Shutdown seem to crash the system. I have to pull the plug out to reset. Anyone else getting this? If so, is a solution available?

sometimes the emgd driver does bad things on exit, so I dont know a fix whilst using that driver. it was actually better with older versions.

Florence is still screwed for me. I installed the Xubuntu 1.1 ext4 version and tried to set up my wireless network. I tried to enter my SSID and got an endless string of the letter P.

I'll probably go with Mint for the time being.

did you duplicate any settings / home directory from a previous image ? I am unable to replicate the issue now as the "bug" which is a florence setting is now set right. if you copied home directory or something from older image you will still have the older/wrong setting that causes the bug.

It was a complete overhaul job - delete partitions / create partition / normal (not quick) format / write image with Win32DiskImager. I did this whole process twice and got the same result each time; the 'stuck key' problem when entering my SSID and then it would bomb out to the Xubuntu log-in screen.

I think it may have been problems due to the stick - although unsure why that would make a difference. I later installed Xubuntu 1.1 to my portable hard drive and Florence worked fine.

if cpu or io load is high, its possible a key could still stick. if booting from usb stick, worth leaving it for some mins to settle after booting for the first time. also if the joggler is throttling, then this could cause it also.

From what I can see it is oneconf eating up a load of memory. Oneconf is used to sync installations across computers. I have killed oneconf and my Joggler is a lot more responsive!

Is it just me or there is no ssh server by default in latest BuZz's Xubuntu?
And still have got problems with sticky keys so I just used OnBoard keyboard.

Edit: sticky keys might be because of updates which are starting shortly after 1st boot of new system and eat nearly whole CPU.

yeh its worth letting the system settle first.

I don't enable ssh server by default. its simple to install after if needed.

Thanks BuZz. One more thing. I'm trying to install Squeezeplay using desktop icon but when I click on it black window just flashes once and nothing happens. Any ideas?

First, thanks BuZz for making great distros for the Joggler.

For me, it is making possible what I'd really like to do with the joggler and I'm learning a lot in the process. Linux had an amazing start and history, which I have been an observer of, but haven't really got that into, till now that is... Still better late then never. And it is great to be back in a terminal and on the command line...

I'm hoping to make a home security system. I am using your 12.04 base image. I have got motion working pretty much straight away, which I am still amazed at. But there is a lot of configuration still to do, because I've done none.

I'd like to get the in-built wireless connecting to my router, so I can SSH into the joggler off my PC and hope to do most things remotely this way.

I haven't configured a wireless adaptor before through a gui in Linux, and I'm having a go now through the command line. But something isn't right.

On doing the following :

What do you think would be the best thing to do ?

I'd like to keep the Ubuntu I'm using as light as possible, so sticking with the command line is much preferable.

Also, in one of the previous posts, improving performance was mentioned. Are some further things I could do to remove or turn off things I don't need, with the ability to put them back later, should I need them.

drivers are all available. lsmod should show rt2870sta running (if not modprobe it). you can use the kernel ones by commenting out / in relevant lines in /etc/modprobe.d/joggler.conf

Ive not used the wireless from cli - only via network manager, but any guides out there for ubuntu should work.
