Update Query

Post by dben »

New to Forum. My Joggler hasn't been working for well over a year and previous attempts to reflash failed. Gave it a go last night and miracle happened, bit of a fluke!. It all appears same as it originally was. One thing, the Forum talks about major update taking place and I checked for update last night under settings and it said there wasn't one. Will this download automatically via wireless connection?

BuZz is awaiting a new image from O2 that is expected some time next week. You should be able to download it from this forum once it has been tested.

If you don't want to wait, you could try PnP III - it is really good and has the best of the new apps (Flickr and Accuweather) along with loads of other goodies such as BBC iPlayer, Squeezeplay and YouTube. In fact I would recommend PnP III over the new stock OS simply for the last three apps mentioned.

Thanks. Will the upgrade from O2 still come thought to my J eventually or have I missed the boat? It was knackered/off until last night?
I'd like to see what's been offered from O2 before trying alternative/recommendation

Both my Jogglers updated automatically but about a week apart. I don't know if the roll-out has been suspended while they had issues with the update (hopefully fixed in the image BuZz received today - earlier than expected).

I think O2 updated Jogglers by MAC address. My kitchen Joggler updated itself and I lost Squeezeplay and all the other PnP goodies, so I reflashed back to the original O2 image. Out of curiosity, I tried to manually apply the update but it was reported that no updates were available, which obviously wasn't the case. I think that once an update had been applied to a MAC address it wouldn't apply it again to the same machine - a bit of a blessing to those who re-pimped their devices.

Visit http://bit.ly/GNe0ov and click on the link 'What will the Joggler look like after the update?' to see what the update provides. If you don't fancy a device with very little that is useful and a bunch of games, opt for PnP III. You won't regret it.
