Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler

Rather unbelievably I've managed to get my joggler going again!! Massive thanks to Roobarb for the tool and all of you who answered my many pleas for help. I'm quite interested in the PnPIII but honestly don't think I can face it. Not just yet anyway....

If you can reflash the Joggler, you can add PnP III. It's roughly the same process; write the image to a USB stick, plug it in to a powered-down joggler, plug the power back in and BE PATIENT. You will see the O2 logo on a black screen for what seems like forever, but leave it for about twenty minutes or so and you'll return to a shiny new Joggler.

You will need to follow pukington's instructions to get connected (on this page - http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... p&start=80) because DHCP doesn't seem to assign an IP address to the Joggler in PnP III, but you can set one manually and everything will be fine. You need to know your DNS server address, gateway and subnet mask, but you should be able to find these in your router's web control interface.

As gegs says, go for it. It's dead straightforward on a reflashed-to-blue-o2 Joggler. Just plug boot with the PnP III stick in, wait and after 12-20 minutes it'll be done. If it fails, just reflash again. I've just downloaded the current version and run it on a roobarb'ed Joggler to check it is working and it is!

i run it off a one gig one but think it is less than 256Mb

Telnet now works, but I do not know the login name and password. Can anyone please help. I have tried the ones posted. (root, letmein etc)

The username and password are both 'joggler', assuming you used the SSH tool from my site.

Have by trial and error got mine running now. Thanks to hard working developers on here!!
I am not able to Telnet yet and while I was preparing for an install of PnP III the joggler updated to the new software!
I suppose it is a bit more work now to get telnet working before trying PnP III.

If you've reflashed then pop PnP3 on a stick, reboot with it in and wait 12-15 min. Only updated ones need telnet. See the PnP thread for more details.

Thanks Dave for the encouragement. My only hitch now is that while I was preparing the stick, the revived Joggler updated over the air before I got back to it. So I have to enable Telnet now.

I'm in the same position, including the " EFI: ioremap failed" message at the ebginning of the reflash...does this mean the internal memory is hosed and I should stop trying....any ideas...

That message doesn't have anything to do with your internal flash memory; it's normal, don't worry about it.

Thanks for the info rhoobarb! I had given up on my Joggler but perhaps I should keep trying. However, I have already tried various alternative OS and I have not got past the the splash screens. The latest one that I have tried is Android and again it sticks: the android shows together with a rotating message and a flashing black box cursor but nothing more.

Any ideas?

Just a quick update: I have been able to boot Android and Xubuntu using a byteStor 16GB stick.

I decided to Roobarb one of my updated Jogglers with a view to installing PNP3 , everything seems to work fine right up to the last bit of info which says reebooting might take a while ; but then it just hangs on the O2 logo ! have tried 3 times rebuilding the stick but just the same , it wont boot .
Do you think this might have something to do with the O2 Downgrade ?
Next step i will delete all files and re download and try another USB stick .

I was in the same boat as some of you and experienced exactly the same behavior you are mentioning. After I solved the problem yesterday evening, I decided to register to this fantastic forum in order to share my experience.
After several tries like you did, I simply tried to do it with a wired connection (although my wireless connection was working before reflash) and not doing step 3 (Add the original OpenPeak O2 image to the reflash directory) as roobarb! clearly explains.
This had this advantage that I could really see that the joggler was connecting to the web and that it could download the o2 image without problems (at the same time I could see that my router was allocating an IP address to the joggler, off course). After 5 minutes or so, the joggler came back to life and I was happy like a 5 years old kid getting his Christmas present.
My theory is that the endless boot is due to the joggler not being able to connect somehow (does not cost anything to throw a theory, doesn't it

I am going to have to try the wired keyboard and blind typing over the top of the o2 logo method next to try to rescue it

Hi roobarb, thanks for the reply and trying to help. I did use the software off your website to reflash the unit back to its original state. I am new to using Telnet and SSH, I apologise if it is already written somewhere in the forum, but how do you use SSH to connect? I have been using the C prompt to telnet in previously but the login names and passwords do not seem to work for including the one you suggested above. I guess it is what I am doing that is wrong.

The best choice is PuTTY on Windows; then you choose the SSH checkbox and pop in the IP address of your Joggler in the box at the top. It will ask you for the username and password if it connects properly (that's 'joggler' and 'joggler') and then you're in.

If you're on OS X or Linux, just call up a Terminal window and type:

Bob in your password and you're off.

Ok so I tried the above method after my joggler stopped booting images and guess what ? With the hub and keyboard plugged and also the ethernet cable so I was getting a fresh downloaded image it booted in to the reflashing tool no problem , fetched the image off the net and went through the whole reflash process right up to the bit that says re booting might take 5 minutes .
But alas it is still stuck on the O2 logo !!
Any ideas what I could try next ? I would be happy just booting from a usb stick one of the images off the forum but even that won't work at the mo .

Ahaa just checked after the latest reflash and get in my joggler is happily booting joli os now .
Still stuck on o2 otherwise tho

Please help me for I am too stupid.

I am the proud owner of 5 jogglers, currently allowing music sync / independant music and or radio in each zone - my other dream is I am running FS20 thermostats and radiator controllers in the same zones controlled by a Linux based Fhem programme but these are subjects for my later education.

Currently I have one joggler that still does what I want it to do and have managed to add 2 more by reflashing birdslikewires-stylee back to the 6-25-11 S3 build. However I cannot telnet to any of these devices and am trying in vain over many weeks to pimp them to PnPIII if possible - telnet and USB boot limitations willing?

I have recently bought 4 different USB sticks all of which have achieved various boot objectives such as the Win XP build, ubuntu etc etc. I am currently stuck on being unable to telnet into any of the devices currently running S3, the symptom being 'unable to connect'

sorry for being thick and simultaneously very grateful for any advice.
