Bootable USB sticks/Cards

Post by harani »

Been trying to get my Joggler booting off a USB stick and went through a few before i got something that worked.
Are they all this hit and miss, is this a common problem or have i got a "picky" joggler ?

this is what wouldn't work for me
4.1GB Undbranded low profile stick off ebay
8GB Lexar
16GB Sandisk Cruzer
(these all boot fine off a regular PC)

and what would boot
8GB Kingston G3 Datatraveler
2GB Sandisk Micro SDHC in a ChipBnk MicroSD USB adapter
2GB ExtreMEmory SD card in aChipBank SD (£1 !) card reader

Yea I found it a bit picky at times, especially with hubs.

8b sandisk cruzer worked for me
16gb cheapo from 7dayshop is what's running on it at the minute
wouldn't work with micro sd to usb adaptor

Before giving up on anything if you're using a hub, try different ports on it. Strangely my belkin hub seems to need a specific order for usb sticks and input devices.

For some time I have been trying to get an alternative OS to run on my Joggler as I am unable to reflash it. At last I have found a USB stick that works :D

Android and Xubuntu work on: byteStor 16GB

but do not work on: Kingston DataTraveler 4GB
