looks like it can't find the initscript on the root partition. on another machine what happens if you do

fsck /dev/sdb3 (where sdb is the device in question). also are you using ext4 or btrfs ?

Quickest fix would be to rewrite the image of course.

Opted for the quick fix and re wrote the image. Cheers Buzz.
