Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Trying a targus mouse now; lights up but still doesn't move the cursor.

Noticed that I don't have to touch the screen anymore for it to boot; seems to have found its boot sectors.

Now trying a little Lenova wireless keyboard mouse combo...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Just tried a Microsoft roller track ball. Seems to be seeing that.

I see the virtual keyboard on the screen when it booted before.

Does your setup work with touch?

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

It boots very slowly; so you may think its hanging; but it really isn't...just slow booting. I'm on my third mouse and keyboard; no luck yet with any of them. The last boot it seems like it was trying to load the drivers for the disk; except I had no way to make it go forward. Now its booting differ...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

I am able to boot with and without power to the hub. Initially mine said the same message. Try touching the screen about 5 seconds after you see the O2; wierd; cuz it was that versus hitting an enter key. What I just noticed though; it activates the mouse when booting; then when into XP it shuts off...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

No fuzziness (its the camera); dim though, just takes at least 15 minutes to boot or so. I resized the image so that it fits on the 4Gb HP stick. Will compress it in a little bit. It does seem a bit fussy.

Thank-you Dan!

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Tried again with just the mouse and a powered USB Hub. That did it. Its booting again. I'll see if the mouse works now.

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Here are some pics of it booting. Slow booting. Desktop Icons went away for a bit then came back. "Stuff" keeps loading on to the task bar. No touch yet and very dim screen. Just went to the screen saver and I have no touch to bring it out of it. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5504/xp1...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Its booting very slowly - now at the "Welcome" screen and just got a desktop. Very Impressive!

Desktop has been populated; except touch doesn't work yet and screen is a bit dim.

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

OK I was able to get it to boot into windows XP. I had to remove the USB stick from the USB hub with the mouse and keyboard attached to it. I also had to touch the screen as it was booting. I did it a few times; cuz initially it boots to a distorted display (50% herringbone pattern). I wait a bit an...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

I did find a difference between sticks. I have one Kingston 8 Gb Datatraveler that appears to take the image; but when I check it there's nothing there. So I went to a 16Gb microSD card. It loaded the image fine. I checked it and there are two partitions; EFI and an NTFS boot partition. I shrink dow...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

I am just restoring the image to an 8Gb stick; its about 200 megs bigger than my 4Gb stick. If it boots I will shrink it down a touch before uploading it.

If it doesn't boot I try with Win32Imager

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

I just googled an online torrent program and found one. I'll post the file to Hotfile and Rapidshare shortly. I'm at 1.33 Gb on my download of 1.50 Gb. Dan, I used to play darts in the 1990's. Enjoyed the game. I was referred to as a "sight shooter". Here though we can only play with plast...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

Another application which I use for the image to USB stick is called USB Image Tool. You can get it here:

http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/download/

I'm currently at 820 Mb (55%) of the download. Transfer rate here in the midwest, US is 126Kb/Sec.

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)

The first one "finished" downloading but I don't think its complete. It won't let me open it. Its at 191,009 Mb. I thought the original size was 1.5 Gb.

I'll try a bit later.

Re: Run the native OS with Ubuntu 11.04

You have to run it from a terminal session on the Joggler versus an SSH session to the Joggler. Great news there Buzz!. The Joggler has now replaced the Chumby on the home office desk; running Ubuntu; fast great capacitance screen. I like to listen to the local radio shows there; work fine across th...

Dan,

I can watch it boot the XP BIOS just fine; just errors out that it can't find a boot drive. Have you been able to boot into XP yet?

Re: Ubuntu for the O2 Joggler.

Thanks verg0 and BuZz. It would be great to get the original OS to run in the Ubuntu image. Currently playing a bit with the same application as above (touchscreen) written for Linux. Just needed to install some MS VB stuff. Trying to speed it up a bit. The flash works well so far. I have some scree...
